Willie Nelson Arrested in Texas

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Willie Nelson was arrested Friday in Texas for alleged possession of six ounces of an illegal substance; the arrest came during a border checkpoint of Nelson’s tour bus.
Nelson, 77, was traveling on his tour bus from Austin to California for upcoming concert dates. During a border patrol check at Sierra Blanca, Texas, police allegedly found six ounces. Nelson was arrested at Hudspeth County Jail and posted $2500 bail.
On his Twitter account and website, Nelson has yet to comment about the charges. Nelson spokeswoman Elaine Schock has declined comment.
The arrest was at 9 am local time Friday. Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks told news that an officer smelled the substance when the tour bus was opened. A Hudspeth County sheriff was dispatched.
Nelson was one of three members of the tour bus arrested.
