Ryan Seacrest Could Get Record Label

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Ryan Seacrest could get a record label. The Ryan Seacrest record label is part of a new Clear Channel contract deal to be announced Tuesday, claims reports. Seacrest is under a three year $35 million contract inked in 2008. In recent months, reports said Seacrest might go elsewhere when the contract expires. But on Tuesday, the New York Times reports Seacrest and Clear Channel will announce a new three year deal worth $60 million.
While terms of the deal will be confirmed later today, the Times reports the deal will feature old and new media ventures. Among them, Seacrest will create new radio content that will air both live, through radio syndication, and online.
But the newest entries will be a live concert series, a music publishing arm, and even a record label. Under the contract renewal, Clear Channel and Seacrest will establish a joint venture to pursue these and other music endeavors, reports the Times.
Seacrest will stay with Los Angeles station KIIS-FM with his five-hour daily “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” program. But his afternoon syndicated program will grow from three to four hours.
Television entries were not discussed in the report.
In recent years, Seacrest has had gold with Kardashian-programs. Other series have not done as well. His MTV “Bromance” and NBC “Mammas Boy” were both ratings failures. “Living Lohan” and “Denise Richards It’s Complicated” were panned by critics. Seacrest’ Richards show got a “D” from Entertainment Weekly; the Boston Herald called Richards’ show “one steaming pile of [junk]…Literally”.
