Alex Welch May Sue Demi Lovato
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Alex Welch of Beat Freaks (photos below) is furious at Demi Lovato. Alex Welch (aka BGirl Shorty) was on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew (Season 3). Now she could be heading to another arena: court.
Alex Welch was one of eight members of the all female dance team that finished as runners up in the popular reality show. Most recently, Welch has been a Jonas Brothers Live in Concert Tour backup dancer. Now she has been identified as the tour member that Demi Lovato allegedly punched.

News reports this week have said Demi Lovato has previously battled “eating disorders” and is seeking “control by getting help”. E! adds that Lovato’s troubles have included bulimia “A source tells E! News that Demi Lovato has struggled with bulimia, and it is among one of her emotional and physical issues.”
In February of 2009, Lovato posted a long myspace post which included comments about her battling issues of self-confidence. “Honestly, I feel like a new person and in the best way possible. Over the past few months I’ve really just changed my perspective on life and it’s really made me mature into a “new me”. It’s weird, I’ve even been dressing more ‘girly’ because I’ve gained a lot of confidence in myself and my appearance.”
Film appearances for Alex have included Stick It, Date Movie, Step Up 2: The Streets, Bring It On: All or Nothing, Prom Night, and in the upcoming movie Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. And beyond Lovato, Alex has worked with Pink and Miley Cyrus. Her music video appearances have included Toni Braxton’s “Make My Heart”, Justin Bieber’s “Baby”, Jonas Brothers’s “Bounce,” and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.

TMZ reports that Welch has met with attorneys about the Lovato alleged incident and “is considering legal action.”
As previously reported on LALATE, Lovato recently admitted her troubles with bullying. “For me it was all of the verbal harassment I had to deal with. People say sticks and stones may break your bones but names can never hurt you, but that’s not true. Words can hurt. They hurt me. Things were said to me that I still haven’t forgotten.”

Lovato tweeted the above photo in August 2009. The skinny frame immediately prompted concerns by fans. Demi at the time reportedly tweeted the photo with the words “I need you to know, I’m not through the night.. Some days I’m still fighting to walk towards the light.”
The words are lyrics from the song “Courage” by the Christian rock group Superchick. The single “Courage” has significance for eating disorder struggles.

It would be foolish to sue someone for a minor shiner that she got. I saw the pictures of her black eye and for the most part it was minor brusing at best. The most of what is gonna happen is that she’s gonna get a civil settlement. If it was a broken leg or what not, then I could see that. But for a black eye that would heal up in a few weeks? At best she’d get a few thousand or at least coverage for damages. Unless she goes the “emotional trauma route” which doesn’t hold a lot seeing as how she was playing cards and smiling the next day while spotting said shiner.

Get real! Now Demi is the BULLY! She’s also a Drama Queen! What has she done to make it up to BGirl Shorty (Alex Welch) for assaulting her? She’s just doing the same thing as all the other spoiled brats like Britney, Lindsey, Paris, Miley, etc….. She belongs in Rehab and should also publicly appologize.
