NEW YORK (LALATE) – Tyler Clementi (photo below) entered Rutgers as a freshman just weeks ago. Tyler Clementi a week ago today committed suicide, the victim of a cyber-stalking taping by no other than Clementi’s own Rutgers classmate.

Dharun Ravi allegedly thought it amusing for himself, Molly Wei, and fellow Rutgers students to video tape his roommate Tyler Clementi. Clementi had told Dharun that he wanted the room for himself until midnight. Ravi allegedly interpreted that to mean that Tyler wanted to invite his boyfriend over to have relations privately in the dorm room.

So Ravi didn’t go to the library and study. Rather, Ravi allegedly went to the dorm of fellow student Molly Wei. There he allegedly accessed his webcam, pointed conveniently at Tyler. Ravi then allegedly remotely activated the webcam from Molly’s room. And with a click of the button, Tyler and his boyfriend’s relations were being live streamed online for the viewing public to watch.

Ravi was allegedly content. He twittered others to join in and watch. Three days later, Ravi was allegedly at it again, attempting to get the stream to go live. It didn’t. But Ravi allegedly posted pictures of the men instead.

Soon thereafter, Ravi was charged with Wei. Ravi was released on $25,000 bail and Wei on her own recognizance last Wednesday. By that evening, Tyler had decided he had enough. By nightfall, Tyler Clemente jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge.

Rutgers’ response was devoid of substance. “The university takes these matters seriously and has policies to deal with student behavior. Under federal law, the university cannot comment on specifics.”

EXCLUSIVE – ATLANTA (LALATE) – The Bishop Eddie Long scandal began with a $350,000 Bentley, and other flashy possessions, all the subject of a prior Senate probe. Bishop Eddie Long is accused of seducing four young men between the ages of 16 and 18, into relations, and using flashy possessions, gifts, and readings from the scriptures. But for a man that boasts an ungodly priced $350,000 Bentley,  Bishop Eddie and his belongings were all the subject of a Senate probe that started in 2007 and extended as late as 2008.

The asset(s) questioned in that probe are the same asset(s) Long is now accused by four plaintiffs of alleged wrongful use, LALATE has exclusively learned.

While Bishop Eddie is accused of engaging in relations with four teens, he is also accused by the now young men of diverting Church funds to pay for alleged lavish gifts and use of Church assets for his alleged seduction.

And while Bishop Eddie Long’s spending is the subject of the four boys’ lawsuits now, it was also the subject of Sen. Chuck Grassley’s inquiry in 2007 that reportedly spanned to at least the year 2008.

Even though Long responded to those requests, his responses were allegedly incompletely. The U.S. Senate Finance Committee in 2007 sent Long a five page demand letter for answers about church spending on alleged non church matters. But since that letter, its author Sen. Chuck Grassley has made clear that he is not going anywhere.

The question is whether Sen. Chuck Grassley who initiated the probe in 2007 should continue his inquiry again.

Grassley told the The Gazette in July 2008 “I am in this investigation for the long haul.” Investigators told the Gazette in its article published January 27, 2008 that allegedly “Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church/Eddie L. Long Ministries offered general but incomplete information”.

Long said of the inquiry at the time “[Grassley] wants to impose the will of government on our religious rights.” Whitney B. Williams of Marietta, a New Birth member in 2008, said of the Senator’s request “That senator is a clown.”

Longs’ plaintiffs last week claimed “Defendant Long’s Spiritual Sons are taken on public and private jets to U.S. and international destinations house in luxury hotels and given access to numerous celebrities including entertainment stars and politicians.”

Grassley had in 2007 issued demands on six televangelist ministries including Long’s. By 2008, when talking about those six ministries in general, Grassley said “It is not unexpected that some people who are doing something wrong do not want to report it.”

NEW YORK (LALATE) – Molly Wei (photo below) is the Rutgers student accused of facilitating the taping of Tyler Clementi (aka Tyler Clemente) by Dharun Ravi. Police claim that after Tyler Clementi began having relations with his boyfriend, Dharun Ravi went to Wei’s room. There police claim Wei enabled Ravi to remotely access his webcam, pointed in his dorm room at roommate Tyler Clementi. And in moment, Wei and Ravi allegedly were streaming to Rutgers’ student body online another student having relations.

Wei like Ravi and Clementi were all Rutgers Freshmen. And while the enrollment status of Ravi and Wei remains in question, all three students had gone to Rutgers with the purpose to learn. Instead, it remains unclear what Wei thought when she learned Clementi jumped to his death after suffering the ridicule from her  alleged illegal taping.

Clementi didn’t leave a note. He reportedly didn’t give warning signals. But the same day Wei was released, Clementi chose to end his life. A laptop, a cellphone, and keys were left in a car nearby the George Washington Bridge last Wednesday.

Ravi, 18, was freed on $25,000 bail and Wei, 18, was released on her own recognizance. Each were charged with invasion of privacy for the September 19 broadcast. Ravi was charged with two more counts of invasion of privacy for the attempted September 21st recording.

NEW YORK (LALATE) – Dharun Ravi (photo below) is the Rutgers student charged with sending a live stream of his gay roommate Tyler Clementi (aka Tyler Clemente) online via a webcam while Clementi had relations with his boyfriend. When  Dharun Ravi was told by his roommate that he wanted their dorm room for himself for a few hours so that he could have relations, Ravi’s reaction was “yeah”.

Ravi soon decided to allegedly become the roommate from hell. Ravi left behind a webcam connected as he exited the room, claim police. He ended to another Rutgers room. There he remotely accessed the webcam, put Tyler online via live streaming video, captured pictures, posted the pictures, activated a chat room for discussed, and tried to promote his endeavors via social networking on Twitter, claim police.

What roommate would do such a thing?

After the Ravi was released last Wednesday, Clementi headed to the George Washington Bridge. At 8:50 pm, Clementi was spotted standing on the south walk of the bridge; his car, cellphone, and computer were reportedly close by. New York news is reporting that Tyler Clementi jumped to his death. His body has yet to be recovered.

Bashing of students by fellow students is dominating our society. In twenty four hours, LALATE has reported four teen students, as young as 13 and as old as 18, taking their lives this school year because of ridicule.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper last night addressed the subject. He invited Andrew Shirvell who defended his “Chris Armstrong Watch”. Chris Armstrong is a student at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor campus. Shirvell is a member of Michigan’s attorney general’s office, and a person obligated to prosecute wrongful conduct in the State of Michigan.  While Armstrong has been able to brush off Shirvell’s ridicule, Shirvell took to national news last night to name call Armstrong.

“I’m a Christian citizen exercising my First Amendment rights. I have no problem that Chris is homosexual. I have a problem that he’s advancing a very radical agenda.” When asked if he was bigot, Shirvell then called Chris Armstrong a “bigot”. “The real bigot here is Chris Armstrong, I don’t have any hate in my body at all”

NEW YORK (LALATE) – The Rutgers suicide of Tyler Clementi (photo below) following a cyber bullying by Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei is leaving a nation questioning what is happening on our campuses. News of Tyler Clementi’s suicide follows an alarming trend among teens to commit suicide when confronted with hatred from fellow classmates.

Today, a nation has learned of four teens, bullied to death, in just the first month of school this year.

The teens were  being taunted, mocked, or bullied by classmates, ridiculed about everything from their significant other to their height to even the quality of their tennis shoes.  It calls into question what was happening on these campuses.

Dharum Ravi alerted fellow Rutgers students to watch his gay roommate have relations via a hidden webcam. Asher Brown’s bully solicited fellow classmates to kick him down a flight of stars, toss his books, and push him further. Seth Walsh couldn’t stand the mockery anymore; he hung himself.

And yet for every school, as in the case of Asher Brown, that failed to act on information of bullying, there are others where fellow students didn’t report the conduct. Where are the students who watch, mocked, and or didn’t report the conduct?

Molly Wei and Dharum Ravi weren’t the only students who engaged in mocking Tyler Clemente. Ravi tweeted to others, invited others to iChat with him, posted pictures for others to see.

When Tyler Clemente entered Rutgers as a teen freshman just weeks ago, he never thought that his roommate would turn on a hidden webcam, remotely, from Molly Wei’s room, and live stream him having relations for other Rutgers students to watch.

Billy Lucas was 15, Asher Brown was 13, Seth Walsh was 13. And while Clemente was 18, teens can be bullied at any age and often feel left with no one to turn to. Asher Brown turned to his parents. His parents claim they turned to his school for help. And yet, no help was allegedly given.
