Jamal Parris Joins Maurice Robinson and Anthony Flagg Lawsuit

ATLANTA (LALATE) – Jamal Parris (photo below) joins the Maurice Robinson and Anthony Flagg lawsuit against Eddie Long. Parris (not “Paris”) is the third Bishop Eddie Long plaintiff in this week’s second suit; but indications suggest Parris may not be the last plaintiff. News reports Thursday suggest many more persons have been coming forward allegedly they too were alleged victims. Jamal Parris has retained Robinson and Flagg’s attorney B.J. Bernstein, initiating his second suit this week. Flagg and Robinson as broke previously on LALATE claimed they were inducted into a pseudo-order, by virtue of a quasi-wedding ceremony, to the Bishop.
Jamal Parris’ addition comes one day after questions mounted as to who were the other alleged “Spiritual Sons”. Flagg and Robinson, in their complaint, said there were two of several members of the Spiritual Sons, alleged young boys handpicked by Bishop Eddie Long, initiated into the order by virtue of a quasi wedding ceremony, who would later share a bed and relations with the Bishop Long. Flagg and Robinson had claimed the Spiritual Sons were either from the congregation or from employees. But until Parris came forward, there were questions why others haven’t asserted allegations. That has now changed dramatically.

Currently, Robinson is 20, Flagg is 21 and Parris is 23. B.J. Bernstein details new claims by Parris. B.J. Bernstein claims Bishop Long made advances, as he did with Flag, against Parris. Bernstein says Long told Parris to call him “daddy”, hired him as a personal assistant, told him to stay in the office after church, and there initiated and engaged in “misconduct” with Parris.
Parris left the church and later discovered that he was one of several boys alleging conduct by Long. Bernstein says that since the case went public on Tuesday multiple alleged other victims.

Much of the media defense of Bishop Eddie Long, before a scheduled Roland S. Martin interview on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, has been inconsistent. Spokesman Art Franklin appeared on morning news Wednesday, answering some questions, but on harder questions refusing to answer, referring that to Long’s attorney. Like when asked if Long shared a bed with the plaintiffs, Franklin refused to answer. Long’s attorney in turn has issued written statements of denials. A statement released by Craig Gillen, attorney for Long, said, “Bishop Eddie Long adamantly denies the allegations. It is unfortunate that the two young men have chosen to take this course of action. We are reviewing the complaints and will respond accordingly.”
Church members when asked by local news have expressed support for their Bishop. The Church itself is also named as a co-defendant.
