ATLANTA (LALATE) – Bishop Eddie Long scandal photos (pictures below), on a cellphone, in his bathroom, were released by plaintiff’s attorney. Bishop Eddie Long’s scandal pictures don’t depict much, showing the Bishop fully clothed, and not validating any of the claims of the plaintiffs.
Plaintiff’s attorney released the two pictures in which the Bishop is dressing in a muscle shirt holding his phone up in the bathroom. One bathroom, while not verified by the attorney, appears to be a hotel bathroom. The attorney representing the plaintiffs is referred to by local news as a “prominent Atlanta” attorney, B.J. Bernstein. In releasing the pictures, Bernstein said the pictures were taking by Long and send to young teen males who attended Longfellows Youth Academy. She would not specify who specifically received the photos or where the photos were taken.
Plaintiffs Maurice Robinson and Anthony Flagg claimed they were initiated in an pseudo religious order by virtue of a ceremony which they claim replicated a wedding to Long. “It was essentially a marriage ceremony where there were candles, (an) exchange of jewelry and biblical quotes given.” New Birth Missionary Baptist Church at 6400 Woodrow Road in Lithonia is also a defendant.
Long has used both attorney(s) and church reps to speak on his behalf. His attorney Craig Gillen issued the following statement to news Wednesday. d, “Bishop Eddie Long adamantly denies the allegations. It is unfortunate that the two young men have chosen to take this course of action. We are reviewing the complaints and will respond accordingly.”
Art Franklin, the spokesperson for Bishop Long, appeared on CNN News Wednesday. When asked if Bishop ever traveled with any of the teenage boys, Franklin did not deny saying “a number of people travel with Bishop”. When asked if the Bishop shared a bed with teenage male boys he traveled with, Franklin did not deny, simply stating “That is one of the allegations that we learned through the media that’s being made by the attorneys and something that the defense team will have to respond to.”
