T.J. Houshmandzadeh Vikings Trade Untrue

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A T.J. Houshmandzadeh trade to the Vikings is untrue. T.J. Houshmandzadeh Vikings deal reports fueled football news this weekend, that is until moments ago when Brad Childress put the T.J. Houshmandzadeh trade rumors to rest. Childress at a news press conference Sunday said the Vikings are not pursuing Houshmandzadeh. Childress says the Vikings will instead remain focused on young receivers.
Fox 6 Sports had fueled the trade reports with a twitter news update Saturday that read “Once again, a SOURCE says #Vikings have signed former #Seahawks WR TJ Houshmanzadah – can not personally confirm nor deny.”
T.J. Houshmandzadeh was released by the Seahawks Friday.
Yet following the Fox report, others weren’t sure of the logic of such a trade. Dan Carey (Bleacher Report) says the team already had a “solid receiving corps that should thrive under quarterback Brett Favre with or without Houshmandzadeh.” Greg Rosenthal (NBC) added that the Vikings already have Greg Carmillo “who has a similar possession receiver skill set”.
