LARGO (LALATE) – Rachel Wade’s sentence for the murder of Sarah Ludemann in the Joshua Camacho love triangle has been released. Rachel Wade faced life in prison; instead she will get 27 years. Moments ago, the Court announced sentencing. “The actions of Rachel Wade have caused a lot of pain,” said Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Joseph A. Bulone. The Judge ruled “The murder was no accident”.

Joshua Camacho, 21, had one baby mama and two “friends with benefits”, claims Joshua. Those women were Rachel and Sarah. Both women reportedly thought there were much more than that to Joshua; he didn’t agree.

In a news story previously covered on LALATE, the terror came to a head on April 15, 2009 when Wade fatally stabbed Sarah twice. Wade says it was self defense. Rachel Wade, 20, was charged with second degree murder.

“To say I cannot comprehend teenagers today is an understatement,” Ludemann’s aunt Jo Anne Reuter wrote to the Court. “How sad that the interaction between Sarah and Rachel had escalated with no one intervening to stop it.”

Wade said of the events “I think about it every day, regardless if they give me five years or 20 years more than they could give me. I never meant to do it, and I’m still gonna have to live with it, no matter if I’m home or if I’m in prison.”

Wade’s prosecutor told the jury “I’m going to … murder you” . That is what Rachel Wade told Sarah Ludemann 7 1/2 months before she took a knife and stabbed her through the heart on the night she killed her.” “Rachel was telling her friends ‘I’m going to …. kill that b–ch’. The night she killed her, she had an argument with Sarah on the phone. She told her: ‘I’m going to stab you and your Mexican boyfriend.’”

Defense attorney declined to give opening statements but asked to reserve the right after the prosecutors rest their case. Defense counsel later said “Sarah was the aggressor. They couldn’t stop her. She went looking for Rachel that night.”
