Cammie King Conlon Dead at 76

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Cammie King Conlon is dead at 76. Cammie King Conlon, credited as Cammie King, played Bonnie Blue Butler at age 4, the daughter of Scarlett (Vivien Leigh) and Rhett (Clark Gable), in Gone with the Wind. She also played Faline in Disney’s Bambi (1942), her final acting role at age 5.
She was born Eleanore Cammack King in Los Angeles in 1934. She is survived by her son and daughter and three grandchildren. She told the Press Democrat (Santa Rosa) of her cult following in recent years, “I had nothing to do with it. I was 5. They said, ‘Stand here. Do this.’ ”
Also dead this week is William Smart, the father of the son murdered in the Pamela Smart case of 1990. Beloved photographer Corinne Day whose shocking realism helped fashion photography enter the grunge period of the 1990s is dead at 48 of a brain tumor. And Ken Orsatti, the former national executive director of SAG, has died at 78 from pulmonary disease.
