LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Cristina Saralegui says ending “El Show De Cristina” after 20 years is bittersweet. But Cristina Saralegui insures that the end of her talk show is not the end of her run on Univision. Saralegui will return to Univision for special hosted events, says her broadcaster to latin news Friday.

Cesar Conde, president of the Univision Networks, called Cristina inspirational in a statement to latin news this weekend. “Cristina has been an inspirational and powerful force in the television industry throughout her career and her celebrated show has been one of the most beloved and popular programs in Spanish-language television history.”

Cristina started her show in 1989 as daily for Univision. Twelve years later it switched to a weekly format. “It is bittersweet to announce the end of what has been a very rewarding experience, but after many wonderful years, now is the perfect time to retire the show and move on to the next exciting phase of my career,” said Saralegui in a news statement this weekend.

Cristina says she will remain close to her fans, supportive and dedicated, through new programs geared to today’s concerns. “I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to host ‘El Show de Cristina’ over the past 20 years and work with the incredible people at Univision… I look forward to continuing to entertain my incredibly supportive and dedicated fans as the host of upcoming Univision specials.”

The last broadcast will be November 1, 2010.

WASHINGTON D.C. (LALATE) – Is the message of the Glenn Beck 828 Rally today (glennbeck.com/828) lost within its controversy? Beck will be bestowing “restoring honor” medals of merits on three persons; yet Beck himself even admits that the message of today’s rally, wrongly seen often as political, has been clouded with more focus on his views and less about the foundation it seeks to help and the citizens it seeks to honor.

Beck recently said about today’s 828 Rally that “I know this event on 8/28 has gotten a lot of heat and, unfortunately, not an awful lot of attention has gone to Special Operations Warrior Foundation, which I would just ask you to please look into.” The event is not political, even though critics say it is. Foundation organizers claim their association precludes an political speeches. Yet Beck scheduled it on the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a Dream” speech, form the same location – the Lincoln Memorial. Beck says it’s coincidental.

And while the rally may not be political, Beck has insured that attendees stay on point with the message, prohibiting attendees from bringing political signs or wearing political items. The rally seeks to pay “tribute to America’s service personnel and other upstanding citizens who embody our nation’s founding principles of integrity, truth and honor.”

Spokesperson Edie Rosenthal hopes that people will walk away with the message and that the Foundation will benefit with $5 million in proceeds by day end to keep their purpose alive far after Saturday’s event.

LAS VEGAS (LALATE) – Paris Hilton has been arrested in Las Vegas. This Hilton arrest follows previous alleged events this summer that Hilton denounced as false. On Friday night in Las Vegas, police officers pulled over a vehicle in which Hilton was a passenger. AP reports officers found an undisclosed amount of an illegal substance in her purse. Hilton was booked at 2 a.m. on a possession charge and thereafter released.

On Friday, news broke that Hilton was dating Cy Waits; both were in Hilton’s L.A. home during a security breach last week. Waits is managing partner at Tryst Nightclub (Wynn Las Vegas), Drai’s (Las Vegas) and XS Nightclub (Encore Las Vegas). Hilton was set to head back to Las Vegas by Friday evening.

In July Hilton claimed a possession charge in South Africa was false. Hilton said it was her friend’s item, not hers. Her reps said at the time: “Paris Hilton was questioned today by police in South Africa on allegations of smoking []. However I can confirm that the incident was a complete misunderstanding and it was actually another person in the group who did it … The case has been dropped against Paris and no charges will be made. The authorities have apologized for wrongfully accusing her since she had nothing to do with the incident. Paris is having an incredible time at the World Cup.”

Weeks later, reports claimed Hilton was stopped in France for less than a gram of an illegal substance. Hilton denied that arrest as well, writing on Twitter “The stories saying I have been arrested are completely false!”

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Did Drake and Nicki Minaj marry? Drake is married to Nick Minaj, so he claims on Twitter Friday. Drake and Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to tell fans they got married. But hold the rice, because the Tweets may not be true. Some people aren’t believing the news, including both singers’ reps.

E! claims, without much detail, a denial tonight. The site claims reps for Drake and Nicki Minaj confirm the two are not married. Yet, for fans on Twitter, Drake made the news clear Friday. On the track “Miss Me” off “Thank Me Later,” Drake features the lyrics “I love Nicki Minaj, I told her, I’d admit it/I hope one day we get married just to say we … did it/And girl, I’m … serious with it if you with it/’Cause your verses turn me on, and your pants are mighty fitted.”

On Friday, Nicki told fans on Twitter “U scurred? @drakkardnoir u ready to make the announcement or what?” It took Drake sixty minutes to make his decision. Eventually, he told fans, and Nicki, “Baby I am never scared. PROUD is more the word I would use”. Drake added “Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and don’t stare at her too long. She’s finally mine. .” Minaj responded back “Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot.”

So what’s the twitter verdict? Publicity stunt.

While MTV sought comment from the label, the label refused to comment, but when E! sought comment from the singers’ reps, they denied the tweets as being true.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Wrestler Gertrude “Luna” Vachon is dead at 48. Luna Vachon’s death was confirmed today just two weeks after news that Vachon lost all her wrestling belongings in a house fire. Vachon’s cause of death is currently unknown.

Chris Mueller on Bleacher Report said of the home fire that “I, for one, will be searching through some of my old merchandise and send her whatever I am willing to part with.” Luna’s father was father Paul “Butcher” Vachon, her uncle was Maurice “Mad Dog” Vachon; she also trained with aunt Vivian Vachon.

Vachon retired in November 2007 and in recent days had been a tow truck operator. Fred Johns in his interview with Luna said “Gertrude Vachon is bi-polar and medically diagnosed as being manic depressive. Her condition was not known to everyone she worked with in the wrestling industry, but those close to her knew full well”.

Luna said she was offered a spot in Nintendo’s first WWF video game. “I didn’t just want to get attention in the wrestling industry, I wanted to get attention in all industries”. Fans and industry insiders have taken to twitter to post their remarks. David Herro tweeted at roughly 10:30 AM PST today “With a broken heart I am crushed 2 tell u that one of the most amazing people I have ever known has died. God Bless Luna Vachon. I love u.”
