LAHORE (LALATE) – Veena Malik (photo below) claims she knows about a Mohammad Asif’s alleged cricket cheating. Veena Malik, a Lollywood actress and model, is the ex-girlfriend of Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Asif. Now Malik is talking out about the spot-fixing and match-fixing cricket cheating scandal that erupted last Sunday in the News of the World article about Mazhar Majeed (photo above).

This week, the streets of Lahore featured a procession of donkeys carrying the names of players linked in the scandal including Asif. As the donkeys passed, outraged fans threw tomatoes at Asif’s donkey and slapped it with old shoes.

Now the star of Lollywood is speaking out about her former boyfriend. Veena Malik claims that he told his Pakistani team would throw their game during the 2009 tour of Australia. Veena Malik also claims that Asif he flew to Bangkok to meet bookmakers before the team headed to Australia in December. She asserts that Asif used employees’ telephones to make the calls.

Venna Malik tells the Pakistan Express News network “When Pakistan started losing in Australia, I jokingly said, ‘For God’s sake, win a match.’ To this, he replied: ‘We won’t win anything until 2010′.” The team lost every game on the Australian tour.

When asked about the Bangkok trip, she said “”He told me that he was offered $40,000. I advised him not to be part of such activities but he did not listen. Instead, he went ahead and demanded $200,000.”

The two are no longer together. She also says that she supported him, loaning him money, during his previous two year ban from the sport. Malik claims she was never paid back. Her manager tells news “She helped him financially after he was banned for doping”.

Her current credits include Ms Duniya. Her manager says “She has even mimed Michael Jackson. She has done parody of top Bollywood stars like Rani Mukherjee, Shilpa Shetty, etc.” She writes on her website “The sublime part of her life is that she always relies on her own efforts and exertions.
