LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Tila Tequila allowed herself to be attacked rather than leave the stage, claimed the Juggalos in a statement to news Wednesday. Organizers and Insane Clown Posse said the attack on Tila Tequila was “extremely unfortunate”, but claim she was warned not to take the stage in the first place, and, when it started, she refused to leave the stage and allowed herself to be attacked.
Juggalos’ first statement since the Tequila attack is consistent with the video of the attack. When Tila first has something thrown at her, she continued to perform while her security personnel surrounded her. In the video posted to YouTube, Tequila has at her availability on stage a virtual wall of tall security guards to protect her. Rather, she continues to perform and shouts at the crows “I’m not going anywhere”.
It’s at that point, claim the Juggalos, that Tequila should have left the stage. She didn’t. It’s her refusal that caused her to get injured, claims the organization.
“The crowd began to boo heavily and throw garbage … [that] she was not welcome…. Her injuries were only sustained because of her refusal to leave the stage”. Tom Green left the stage, Tequila did not. Rather she took of her top. “After several minutes, she even removed her top, exposing herself, which seemed to mock and further antagonize the crowd. Finally, Gathering security pulled her off of the stage.”
If that’s enough, organizers claim that before the performance Tequila was advised to take complete payment and not even perform because she was unpopular. “Ms. Tequila was made aware, in advance, of her unpopularity with many Juggalos at the Gathering, but she insisted on performing… she could leave the stage the minute that she felt uncomfortable.”
