COOKE CITY (LALATE) – Yellowstone nearby bear attack victim Deb Freele reveals how she survived. Yellowstone neighboring bear(s) killed one and injured two yesterday at Soda Butte Campground.

Simply put, Deb says she survived by acting dead as the bear ate at her bones. While a hideous revelation, Freele tells news that it was means by which she survived.

She tells GMA Thursday “A split second before something told me something was wrong. I woke up and the bear bit down on me. I haven’t even moved. I screamed and he bit down harder. He continued to bite and shake and I could hear my bones breaking.”

“I decided I was going to play dead…. After a few seconds, he loosened his grip and he left.”

The actual attack was five miles from Yellowstone at Soda Butte Campground. The 10 acre area is in Gallatin National Forest. Soda Butte, Chief Joseph and Colter were promptly closed Wednesday. Ron Aasheim a spokesman for the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, said bear attacks like this are not typical. “This is not typical bear behavior…It’s not normal.”

ORLANDO (LALATE) – Winn-Dixie announced new 2010 store closures today. The Winn-Dixie store closures amount to 30 stores total; over 15 of the stores are in Florida. Winn-Dixie Store operates 514 stores currently in five states.

The hardest hit with today’s announced closures is Orlando where four stores alone will shut their doors. Winn-Dixie says the closures will be effectuated by September 22 this year. Winn-Dixie Store emerged from bankruptcy in 2006 after having closed 500 additional stores.

Says Winn-Dixie: “For over 80 years, the Winn-Dixie name has stood for real quality and value. We’re proud to have built our reputation on not only always delivering a quality product, but on constantly striving to find new ways to improve that quality. It’s a tradition we’re intent upon continuing far into the future.”

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Lily Collins and Taylor Lautner are reportedly not dating. Lily Collins Taylor Lautner dating reports hit newsstands this week. But new indications say that the news reports are false.

Lily, 21, and Taylor, 18, are in love claims the National Enquirer. “Lily told pals that she wasn’t looking to fall in love, but soon realized she had strong romantic feelings. Taylor was smitten from day one, but Lily let him know she was in a relationship with a stuntman who was working on a Steven Spielberg movie in New Mexico. When the boyfriend got suspicious because Lily didn’t return calls promptly, he hopped a plane and turned up unannounced to confront her.” The report goes on to claim “they’re in full-blown love.”

The report claims that Lily split with her boyfriend of one year for Lautner of two weeks.

Really? No so, says other news reports today that claim the Enquirer’s report is false and that Lily is still with her boyfriend.

BURBANK (LALATE) – ABC’s Steve McPherson has resigned. McPherson’s resignation from ABC Entertainment comes with little clarity about the reason for the abrupt departure.

ABC has said the following about McPherson’s resignation: “Steve McPherson today submitted his resignation as President, ABC Entertainment Group, and the Company accepted. Mr. McPherson said, ‘I want to thank the wonderful team of individuals who have worked with me throughout my time here and wish them nothing but the best.’ A replacement for Mr. McPherson will be announced shortly.”

McPherson’s attorney, Tom Hoberman, has issued the following statement: “Upon Steve McPherson returning to work from his vacation on Monday, he made a voluntary decision to resign and ABC accepted his resignation. It is not uncommon for high level executives to be the subject of gossip and innuendo. That would include rumors of internal situations which can easily be misinterpreted or misrepresented. Seems like it goes with the territory, and there is nothing further to discuss.”

MEMPHIS (LALATE) – A 911 Tape possibly recorded the murder of Lorenzen Wright. A 911 Tape possibly of Lorenzen Wright being murdered, shot as many as 12 times, is now being investigated by Memphis homicide investigators, says new reports.

As broke yesterday on LALATE, Memphis police are handling the case of Lorenzen Wright, found dead Wednedsay afternoon, as a murder investigation. Memphis police confirmed to multiple local news stations Wednesday that the former NBA star was shot at least 12 times.

On Wednesday, initial news reports claimed the 911 call made from Wright’s cellphone was a hangup and did not connect with a dispatcher. New reports Thursday claim that the phone call did connect with a 911 dispatcher. Today’s reports say that, on the day of Wright’s disappearance, a call from Wright’s cell to a 911 dispatcher connected, two expletives by the caller were heard, followed by sounds of gunshots. The 911 tape operator reportedly is recorded saying thereafter “Hello? Hello? I’ve got nothing but gunshots” .

The 911 tape recording was at 1 am local time on July 19. Wright’s body was found Wednesday afternoon behind the Fieldstone Apartments in Southeast Memphis, specifically a wooded section of Hacks Cross and Winchester Road 15 miles outside of Memphis. Family, friends, and fellow NBA stars were at the scene Wednesday afternoon. (While extreme heightened queries landed here yesterday asking about a possible girlfriend, local news have yet to report about any girlfriend.)

The revelation of today’s 911 recording is by Eyewitness New Memphis. The station, along with FOX Memphis TV, both confirmed Wednesday that Wright was shot multiple times (as many as “12 times” according to FOX and “multiple” times according to Eyewitness). Stan McKinley tells Eyewitness News “To end his career and his life like this here in some woods, that’s not good. You don’t do a dog like this. It’s just a really sad day for the city as a whole.”
