RANCHO VISTA (LALATE) – The latest Crown Fire Map issued by LA Fire shows the Crown Fire’s fast advancing in Agua Dulce and Leona Valley Thursday evening. At 2 PM, the Crown Fire first broke out at Sierra Highway at Anthony Road, consuming merely 15 acres. By 8:30 PM, the Crown Fire had grown to 2,000 acres. Now at two hours later at 10:30 PM tonight, the fire is at 5500 acres.

No containment exists as the fire late tonight is advancing on all sides. LA Fire hasn’t issued an online update since 8 PM this evening. But fire officials tell local news still on the scene that evacuations are now in Leona Valley, Rancho Vista, and Ana Verde.

44 personnel battling the blaze by as early at 6 pm tonight. Mapping of the Crown Fire shows it’s south west of Palmdale, west and north of the Antelope Valley Freeway (14), north of Sierra Highway, east of Agua Dulce Airpark.

LA Fire says tonight that “Los Angeles Fire Department have been dispatched to the Crown Fire in accordance with California’s Fire & Rescue Emergency Mutual Aid System. Administered by the California Emergency Management Agency (Cal EMA), the system is designed to ensure resources to local jurisdictions when their resources are committed or insufficient for a specific emergency incident.”

Mandatory evacuations are in three sections, two near City Ranch and one east of Ritter Ranch Park, as of 10 PM tonight; evacuations are in place for Leona Valley (Spunky Canyon Road to Elizabeth Lake Road, both sides of Bouquet Canyon Road), parts of west Palmdale, Rancho Vista, Ana Verde and The Boulders, Ritter Ranch (90th Street west to Grant Center), Ana Verde, Rancho Vista and sections south of Elizabeth Lake Road.

Three evacuation centers are in place. They are Acton Community Center at 3748 Nickels Avenue, Agua Dulce Elementary School at 11311 West Frascati Street in Agua Dulce, and Marie Kerr Park at 2730 West Rancho Vista Road in Palmdale). Small animal evacuations should be taken to Villalobos Rescue Center (36220 Anthony Road in Aqua Dulce) while large animals need to go to Antelope Valley Fairgrounds (2551 West Avenue in Lancaster).
