Tehachapi Fire More Contained

TEHACHAPI, CA (LALATE) – Kern Fire is reporting the Tehachapi Fire is improving. The Tehachapi Fire aka West Fire was 0% contained as of midnight last night. Moments ago, Kern Fire released a news incident update that personnel have now gotten the Tehachapi Fire at 25% improvement. The total burned acreage is at 1400 with 150 structures threatened and 30 destroyed.
Kern Fire tells news, with their most recent update noon Wednesday, that California’s Governor will hold a live news conference within moments; the Governor will address the news media from the Command Post at 1 PM PST today at Tehachapi High.
The fire’s advancement moved from 1230 acres burned at 2 AM today to 1400 just 8 hours later. But an increase of 200 personnel to 800 by midday made the improvements on the strike containment. The fire is located south of the 58 Blue Star Memorial Highway and West of Tehachapi Willow Springs Road.Kern County Fire, Los Angeles County Fire, Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, and Cal Fire have been leading the assault with land, hand crews, fire, and dozers.
The fire first broke out at 3 PM Tuesday taking 20 structures promptly and 400 acres.
