ORLANDO (LALATE) – Adrienne Simmons is dead at 34. Adrienne Simmons’ death was confirmed today by her family. Simmons died after be knocked unconscious during an amateur kickboxing event on Saturday. Orange County Sheriff’s Office has ruled the incident a horrible accident.

The question remains, however, whether a delay in medical attention was to blame for her death.

Adrienne Simmons wasn’t taken to an Orlando hospital until one hour after being rendered unconscious. Her event was sponsored by the International Kickboxing Federation. But Simmons’ coach says it took one hour until medical transport was present. Florida’s WFTV clais that Steve Fossom, president of IKF, confirms no ambulance was on call. Her opponent’s coach told local news “I’ve been a fighter, coach and trainer in this business for 20 years, and there is always an ambulance at every fight, professional or amateur.”
