Matt Garza No-Hitter for Tampa Bay

TAMPA BAY (LALATE) – Matt Garza tonight delivered the first no-hitter for Tampa Bay ever. Matt Garza’s no-hitter against the Detroit Tigers was a team first since the Rays launched in 1998. After tonight, only two teams remain having never thrown a no0hitter in team history – the Mets and Padres.
Garza’s no-hitter tonight is the first of the year, the most in a single season since 1991. He told news after tonight’s excitement: “That ninth inning. I kept telling myself, ‘Just finish it, just finish it, just battle, battle.’ If it’s meant to happen, it’s going to happen.”
“[Max Scherzer] was making me nervous, man. How long is this going to keep going” I could go 10, man, if you want to go 10. He made a mistake on one pitch…. My kids, my grandkids will have something to talk about.”

Garza has been a great pitcher or a while even though he is still young. With such a small payroll it is amazing all the success the Rays have had..
