1975 Ford Bronco to a Porsche Boxster Steven Ortiz Debate

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Would you trade a 1975 Ford Bronco for a Porsche Boxster? It’s a question national news can’t get enough of tonight and one that Steven Ortiz might still be asking himself.
Whether it’s Los Angeles or New York, CNET or CNN, everyone is talking about Steven Ortiz and how this then 15 year old started with a cellphone and in the end got himself a Porsche.
Yes, a Porsche.
But was it all a big mistake? It all started two years ago when Ortiz was 15. He took a used cellphone and headed onto Craiglist. He traded the cellphone for another cellphone. Ortiz then traded up to an iPod Touch, then to a dirt bike, and then to another. Later, he got a MacBook Pro. From there, Ortiz made the big jump, a computer for an SUV, trading up to a Toyota 4Runner.
There was a problem, Ortiz tells local news. He was only 15 and couldn’t drive. So the Toyota got traded for a special golf car. Then another dirt bike, then a street bike, and then cars.
By now, Ortiz was 17 and able to drive. It’s at this point local news reporters are split between praising Ortiz and shouting error.
Ortiz traded into a 1975 Ford Bronco, as reports NBC Los Angeles. NBC claims that the Bronco he traded had a classic value and resale valuation of at least $15,000. So what did Ortiz do? He reportedly mistakenly trade down, not up, reports CNET and NBC Los Angeles, into a Porsche Boxster worth about $9,000.
What was he thinking, ask news sites tonight? Of course, they shouldn’t complain; he got a Porsche, not them. While Ortiz might have thought a 17 year old in a Porsche Boxster has it made, he tells NBC that he’s spent $1,000 in tune ups already. As a result, Ortiz has plans, he tells Los Angeles. He’s going trade the Boxster.
