LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – PHOTOS. The story of Mary Kay LeTourneau (pictures below) and Vili Fualaa returns to TV today. Mary Kay Letourneau, later Mary Kay Fualaau, is portrayed in the rebroadcast tv movie this weekend, “All American Girl – The Mary Kay Letourneau Story”. Penelope Ann Miller plays the title role opposite Omar Anguiano and Mercedes Ruehl as Jane Newhall.
Her story will also be told in the coming weeks in a new Bio Channel series called Aftermath with William Shatner.
“Award-winner William Shatner takes an in-depth look at what happens when people are tragically or infamously transformed from unknown citizens into household names overnight. Stories like those of Jessica Lynch, Bernhard Goetz and the DC Snipers put previously unknown names on the minds of every American, and Shatner intends to find out how the lives of all those directly affected by these cases have changed forever.” Stories will include Bernhard Goetz, Jessica Lynch, the DC Snipers, the Unabomber, Mary Kay Letourneau, and the Weaver Family of Ruby Ridge.
Mary Kay was previously profiled on LALATE for her role in “Hot for Teacher Night” promotions in whiich Fualaau served as the disc jockey and Letourneau as host. Fualaau has said of Mary Ann “I’m not a victim. I’m not ashamed of being a father. I’m not ashamed of being in love with Mary Kay.”
Mary Kay was a Washington teacher who began an affair with a 12 year student in the 1990s. The 34 year old was sentenced to jail for seven years. After that was done, May Kay and the the student were married. His name was then Vili Fualaau but as profiled on LALATE in 2009 he now goes by the appropriate title DJ Headline.
