Ayla Brown Kathy Griffin Controversy

BOSTON (LALATE) – Kathy Griffin’s comments about Ayla Brown didn’t leave Scott Brown laughing. Ayla Brown is referred to Kathy Griffin as a working girl in this week’s Bravo broadcast of “My Life on the D List”.
Sen. Scott Brown has issued a statement saying (1) Griffin is not funny and (2) if she wants material to keep it on him and off his kids. (Of note, the broadcast is on NBC owned Bravo, features two CNN reporters with Griffin, and is about Ayla who works for CBS.)
The segment features Griffin with John King (CNN) and Dana Bash (CNN). Fox News is reporting that Bash laughs a the Ayla Brown “joke”. Griffin reportedly holds a picture of Ayla and says, “Scott Brown, who is a senator from Massachusetts and has two daughters that are [working women].”
Scott Brown has issued the following response:
“People can call me any name they want, but families are off limits. I love my daughters Ayla and Arianna very much, and any parent would be proud to have them as children. Kathy Griffin and Bravo ought to be ashamed of themselves.”
Griffin also in the segment calls Sarah Palin “nutbag Sarah Palin”.
Brown, profiled on LALATE in January 2010, was an American NCAA basketball player. She is also daughter of WCVB-TV reporter Gail Huff. Brown auditioned with “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” for American Idol.
