World Trade Center Ship Found

NEW YORK (LALATE) – A 200 year old ship has been found underneath the World Trade Center. The World Trade Center ship was unearthed as crews proceeded on construction in lower Manhattan this week. The ship was found in an area not dug during the previous World Center development.
Archeologist Michael Pappalardo told local news that 200 years ago City officials added to trash, debris and wooden beams to the Hudson River to build out a section of the island of Manhattan. The purpose was to accommodate the island’s growing population.
While news was excited about the ship’s discovery, Pappalardo said he was equally excited about found debris dating back two centuries as well. The discovery on Tuesday was announced to local news late yesterday.
A 32-foot section of the ship was found. Debris items unearthed include bottles and dishes.
