Vonetta McGee Dead at 65

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Actress Vonetta McGee is dead at 65; McGee’s death was confirmed by a family rep today.
Vonetta McGee died last Friday after going into cardiac arrest and being placed on life support for two days, said family rep Kelly Nayo. Vonetta McGee dominated 1970s blaxploitation movies such as “Blacula”, “Hammer,” and “Shaft in Africa.” She appeared also in “The Eiger Sanction” opposite Clint Eastwood and “Repo Man.”
In 1987, McGee married the actor Carl Lumbly. In later years, McGee appeared in Bustin’ Loose, L.A. Law, To Sleep with Anger, and Johnny B Good.
Funeral arrangements were kept private. McGee will be greatly missed.
