LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – PHOTOS. Crista Flanagan will appear in Playboy pictures for August 2010. Crista Flanagan’s Playboy pics are 1960s-inspired. But the inspiration doesn’t stop there.

Playboy tells news today that Crista Flanagan, who appears in the hit 60s-period tv show “Mad Men”, will appear in a 1960s-inspired issue that carries the period from front to back. Not only are Crista Flanagan’s pictures inspired classic 1960s Playboy shots but also Crista will be surrounded by reproduced ads from that decade added to the special issue.

Crista and the magazine teamed up for two covers. One features her wearing a man’s tie strategically placed. The issue devotes to the Mad Men star an eight page pic spread. Crista Flanagan says the issue is career changing, simply because she being casted in this way in acting roles. She adds that she doesn’t believe casting directors have ever seen her  “even as an attractive person”. She told WFAN radio today “I have to say, just for myself to go to a job and feel pretty, that was kind of cool.”

She tells news today “I really did feel like I was re-creating something and that I was bringing to life these women who already posed for Playboy in the ’60s. This was not Crista filling your wish list out. This was trying to capture an era.”

“Part of the reason (I decided to pose) was because it scared me and I thought it was exciting that something still scared me. I was really nervous about it, and then i thought the only thing that would be embarrassing would be if I hated my body.” Check out the mag hitting newsstands.
