LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – LeAngela Davis tonight won the Hooters Swimsuit Pageant 2010. LeAngela Davis becomes the Hooters Swimsuit Pageant first Africa-American winner.
After her win, Twitter congratulations heated up with nearly one celebration tweet every 20 seconds starting roughly at 8 pm PST tonight. Davis was a runner up in 2008 behind then winner Sara Hoots of Selma, TX.
The competition generally attracts 100 to 200 Hooters Girl contestants that traveled from as far as Shanghai to compete, representing approximately 446 Hooters restaurants around the world. In 2008, Davis, from Columbus, OH, finished top 10.
LeAngela picks up $50,000 in cash for her win. The contest was hosted by Dan Cortese, with backstage coverage provided by Carrie Keagan. The judges were Chuy Bravo (Chelsea Lately), and Jerri Manthey (Survivor ex-Hooters girl).
Also judging were Ryan Cabrera, Ashley Roberts (Pussycat Dolls), and Michael Yo (Chelsea Lately, ex-Hooters chef). Music was provided by DJ Skribble.
