LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Enrique Iglesias’ Cuando Me Enamoro
has now made Latin music history. Cuando Me Enamoro featuring Juan Luis Guerra jumped to number 1 on the Billboard Latin Songs chart this week. With that climb, Cuando Me Enamoro now gives Enrique Iglesias his 21st number 1 song on the Latin Billboard singles chart, the most number 1s in the chart’s 24 year history. His first number one was 1995’s Si Tu Te Vas.

As Billboard reports this week, 21 of 29 of his singles to make the chart have gone to number 1. The song Cuando Me Enamoro next is featured as the Jersey Shore Soundtrack lead off single.

Billboard reports this week that Iglesias now leads Luis Miguel with the most number 1st. New climbers are LALATE’s favorites Alejandro Fernandez and Chayanne: Total No. 1s, Artist – 21, Enrique Iglesias; 16, Luis Miguel; 14, Gloria Estefan; 10, Ricky Martin; 9, Chayanne; 9, Marco Antonio Solis; 8, Alejandro Fernandez; and 8, Shakira.

Enrique tells press this month the following about the album “It’s so different from what I’ve done in the past — every single song is like a different world.”

About his new album, he adds: “I’m gonna have a bunch of people that will be working with me on this album that I think are gonna make it very different from my prior albums. [It will be] the most eclectic and the most exciting album I’ve done, I think, in my career.”
