LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – MAPS. A sharp earthquake hit Los Angeles today. The Los Angeles earthquake today came without much news after the quake that was felt significantly among West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Malibu, Manhattan and Hermosa Beach residents.
Today’s earthquake of June 7 2010 struck during the night, shortly after 2 am PST. But while the quake registered only a 3.6 magnitude, it was felt significantly by West Los Angeles residents because of its epicenter in the Santa Monica Bay and depth of only 8.1 miles.

Offices of LALATE felt the quake which had a sharp jolt in a vertical pattern that lasted for a few seconds.
USGS puts the earthquake centered off of Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach in the Santa Monica Bay. No reports of aftershocks have yet been recorded.
