Apple Announcement New iPhone!

SAN FRANCISCO (LALATE) – Expect an Apple announcement of a new iPhone Monday. The Apple announcement will a new 4G iPhone for Verizon, a new OS 4.0, and possibly a new iPod Touch, says insiders.
Apple’s announcement of the new 4G iPhone for Verizon would come now nearly six months after many, including LALATE, predicted such an announcement from Apple in January this year. That announcement turned out to be about the iPad, not iPod.
Just days ago, A&T (NYSE:T) said it was ending unlimited data plans for new iPhones and iPads are complaints of strains on the data network. Currently, AT&T users are consuming 273 megabytes of data a month. Other smart phones consume 150 megabytes per month.
Yet in January insiders believed a Verizon iPhone launch would be June 2010. Canaccord Adams’ Peter Misek wrote at the time to clients following:
“We believe there is a good chance that the ‘One more thing…’ part of next week’s presentation may include two iPhone-related announcements: namely, the release of iPhone OS 4.0 and the unveiling of iPhone 4G coming to Verizon in June.”
Apple’s exclusive contract with AT&T (T) runs out 3Q2010
“Together with our semi-conductor partners we have ascertained that there is a reasonable chance the Asian supply chain is prepping for mass production of a new iPhone in March, for availability in late Q2, likely June. The phone will be carried on Verizon and hence will operate on the CDMA network; however, it will also support European GSM and HSPA standards.”
