TEMBLOR EN COSTA RICA – SAN JOSE NOTICIAS – Un terremoto de fuerza moderada, de 6,2 puntos en la escala Richter, estremeció hoy la zona de SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA.
Today’s Costa Rica earthquake was out in the Ocean, off of Parque Nacional Manuel Antonion, cerca Puerto Querpos, Damas, y Pamita.
LALATE readers will remember that in January a 5.0 earthquake struck the country of Costa Rica and was felt in neighboring countries like Panama for days as aftershocks continued.
While no reports of injuries have been announced, the Costa Rica terremoto today was not centered in a densely populated region, off the coast, 24 miles below the earth’s surfaces. Generally quakes of that depth have a lesser magnitude of reach as their spectacular event strikes.
Just days ago, Puerto Rico was struck by a 5.9 earthquake as well, closest to Moca, Aceitunas, and Hato Arriba. It followed another earthquake on April 17, 2010.
USGS data as of the moment lists the quake striking at 4:16 PM today, roughly 30 minutes ago.
