A Gloria Velez Nicki Minaj feud? In the latest Gloria Velez Nicki Minaj feud, Velez calls Minaj a “good gimmick”.

Gloria Velez’s Nicki Minaj comments come as Minaj Thursday night heated up 106 & Park with the number 1 music video (an amazing one, at that).

But in an interview with Major Moves DVD, Gloria Velez starts the feud hating against the Young Money star calling LALATE’s favorite Nicki “a good gimmick.”

“There’s only one right now that’s making any noise. Yea, Nicki Minaj. You can’t say who’s hot because she’s the only one out. She’s just there.

Massive Attack is one of the best and most popular music videos in the nation. It’s that song that topped 106 & Park Thursday. But Massive Attack won’t be headlining any favorite list for Velez.

“She’s a good gimmick, like she has the right team behind her. That’s it, because if anybody else put her out or she was by herself, it would not pop off at all … no matter how much plastic surgery or no matter how much injections in the [rear]. It’s not gonna happen. It’s a gimmick,” Velez continued.

“Nah, I don’t like her music. Sorry. I can’t front. I like [Foxy Brown], I like Eve, I liked [Lil] Kim’s first album. I think it’s a gimmick. I don’t think it’s real rap. Her lyrics are garbage, to me. It’s cute and catchy, but … it’s not hot to me. Some of it don’t even make sense.

“She can’t dance, she’s batting her eyes. What is that? Like the whole time onstage? That’s not a performance mama. … I don’t believe she has the whole package. That’s my opinion.”

PICS. Here again are pictures of Gwen Araujo whose story aires on Lifetime this week. Gwen Amber Rose Araujo pics and story are revisited in a rebroadcasted Lifetime movie this week called “A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story”.

The film starring J. D. Pardo and Mercedes Ruehl was followed later by the release of “Trained in the Ways of Men”, a documentary about the same.

Gwen Araujo was a trans woman teenager murdered in California ni 2002 by four men. Of the four, two she had had relations with. The trans panic defense – in which they claimed to have panicked when they learned she was a trans woman – was evoked during the trials.

Her name came from her favorite singer, Gwen Stefani.

WINNERS! Here are the winners of the Premios Billboard 2010 (Billboard Latin Music Awards). Winners for the Premios Billboard 2010 included Aventura which picked up the most awards tonight. The Premios have yet to air on the Westcoast but LALATE has for you the results already in.

Aventura won 9 trophies tonight including Latin album and digital album of the year along with Latin artist of the year award.

The top nominee of the night was Tito “El Bambino”. He won the second most trophies Thursday evening – 7 awards – which included hot Latin song male artist of the year and Latin digital download of the year.

Three wins were earned by Luis Fonsi who also won Latin pop album solo artist of the year. Three wins including Latin rhythm album of the year went to Wisin & Yandel’s “La Revolución”

PHOTO. Here is a picture of Brian Hogan who is revealed as the person who found the leaked iPhone 4G. Brian Hogan’s iPhone is the one that hit Gizmodo and has become a tech mess.

First, while the notion is to refer to the mobile device as the “iPhone”, “4g iPhone” or “iPhone prototype”, there is no confirmation it was ever an iPhone. Apple confirms the item belongs to them, but doesn’t confirm it was a prototype iPhone. Second, Hogan says he didn’t sell Gizmodo the phone, rather just allowed them to see it. Third,  Gray Powell’s Facebook app was in this iPhone found in a San Jose bar by Hogan. Hogan claims he picked up the phone, saw the Facebook page, and then it immediately turned off. Hogan says the phone has never again turned back on.

Wired News today confirms it was Hogan who found the phone. His attorney doesn’t confirm the price tag of $5,000 but says Hogan was paid by Gizmodo to see the phone for a review, not to purchase it.

“He regrets his mistake in not doing more to return the phone,” says his attorney to Wired News. “Even though he did obtain some compensation from Gizmodo, Brian thought that it was so that they could review the phone.”

The phone measures 4.5″x2.31″x0.37″ and weighs 140 grams; the battery 5.25 WHr at 3.7V.

Gizmodo says of the story “We get false tips all the time. But after playing with it for about a week – the overall quality feels exactly like a finished final Apple phone.”

And yet, LALATE still contends this sounds like some bizarre media gimmic.

Wisin and Yandel heat up the Premios Billboard 2010 tonight. Wisin and Yandel are nominated for the 2009 hit album La Revolucion.

The album went to number 7 in U.S. Billboard 200 and number 3 in the U.S. Billboard Rap Albums chart. But for the U.S. Billboard Latin chart, Wisin and Yandel hit number 1. This is the ninth studio album for Wisin and Yandel composed of Llandel Veguilla Malavé Salazar (Yandel) and Juan Luis Morera Luna (Wisin).
