Computers and Daylight Saving Time Change!
Do we need to change our computers for Daylight Saving Time? Do computers change automatically for Daylight Saving Time?
Most computers today do make the change automatically for us for Daylight Saving Time.
If you are using Internet Explorer 8, Windows Visa, or have “Automatic Updates” turned on, you do not have to make the change for daylight saving time; your computer will do it for you. But some hardware from 2007 or earlier does require you to make the changes manually.
My Computer and Daylight Saving Time
How do I know if I have to change my computer? Daylight Saving Time current standards were in some part approved in 2007, so older browsers may need manually changing.
For example, the following explanation confronts the issue:
“Most Windows-based applications (and some services) reference the underlying operating system for daylight saving time and time zone information. However, some applications and services do not.”
