Weather Alerts Chicago O’Hare Airport Delays!

WEATHER ALERTS – Major weather alerts are striking Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). Weather alerts in Chicago’s O’Hare are prompting over 1 hour travel delays today.
The alerts are causing travel backups in and out of the region. The FAA updates travelers as to the current delays with the below weather alert as of 10 am PST:
“The status information provided on this site indicates general airport conditions; it is not flight-specific. Check with your airline to determine if your flight is affected. Due to WX / LOW CIGS, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving Chicago OHare International Airport, Chicago, IL (ORD). This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 1 hour and 4 minutes. To see if you may be affected, select your departure airport and check “Delays by Destination”.
“Delays by Destination: * Due to WEATHER / LOW VSBY, departure traffic destined to The William B Hartsfield International Airport, Atlanta, GA (ATL) is currently experiencing delays averaging 26 minutes. General Departure Delays: Because a traffic management program is delaying some arriving flights, departing flight schedules may be affected. Check with your airline to determine if your flight is affected. General Arrival Delays: Arrival traffic is experiencing airborne delays of 15 minutes or less.”
