Groner never bought a car. She was that frugal. But news today that Groner left her alma mater $7 million. The college president’s reaction – “Oh, my God.”
Groner went to Lake Forest as a graduate of class of 1931. Four years later she paid $180 for Abbott Labs stock. She worked for the company at the time and continued as a secretary for 43 years.
… a secretary with $7 million in the bank!
Her attorney tells press she had a TV from the Johnson administration and didn’t even own matching dishes to eat on.
