The PSN Twitter account confirmed its PS3 Network was down, it’s PlayStation Network having problems. That PSN Twitter reported the PS3 Network generating error codes late Sunday.
But yet no new update.
As broke first on LALATE, Sony took to its PSN Twitter account @SonyPlayStation) Sunday to report it’s PlayStation Network down generating a wealth of error codes. But since that last message, no new updates on SONY.
Forget the Winter Olympics closing ceremonies – THIS was the biggest story Sunday in the U.S., one that almost even brought LALATE’s servers down in reporting that the PlayStationhad gone down. Comments by thousands of readers per minute on LALATE included:
“the 8001050F error code is different from every system..mine, i just cant sign in, other cant play games, themes gone, trophies gone, dates changed..if it was a server problem themes not bought from psn wouldnt be gone.”
“8001050F please help me i dont know what to do im only a girl and my husband wont stop yelling at me about this bull S! i bought him AVP on ps3 tonight and it wouldnt let me play??? please email me i dont know what to do he expects me to know everything this isnt my fault please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Users waited anxiously for the Sony Twitter update.
“it should be fixed very soon..the techs are working on it..ive been watching the twitter and their latest was “We’re narrowing down the issue and continue to work to restore service to all. Updates as soon as we have them.” they are trying to fix it as fast as possible.”
Today this morning, the problem is not fixed reports LALATE readers. Comments within the last 30 minutes on LALATE read:
“Psn is still not working and i recently got a ps3″
“WFT i tried to play tekken 6 and this code stopped me from playing the game then i find out the my trophy for it was gone im pissed off because i had one more trophy to get, to obtain my very 1st platinum”
LALATE first broke the details Sunday. Here’s the recap.
At roughly 4:30 PM PST Sunday 7:30 PM EST, Sony said it was aware of the PlayStation Network problem and then updating it.
[But strangely, PlayStation Network community boards report the same such error back in 2008. LALATE had located the same outage complained by users in November 2008.]
By 9 PM PST Sundays, users were flooding LALATE and the PlayStation Network forum to complain about the same.
Sony updates started via twitter:
We’re aware that many of you are having problems connecting to PSN, and yes, we’re looking into it. Stay tuned for updates.
The last update via Twitter read:
SN status update (part 2): Readers/followers are confirming that “slim” units (120/250 GB models) are connecting normally.
But ironically some tech blogs 3 hours before that last twitter post had reported slim units fine all night. Since that last message, Sony hasn’t yet updated to its PlayStation twitter account while LALATE readers are reporting segments still down.
Again, the errors generating include the following:
txt_ps3trophy_error, a ps3 trophy registration error, a ps3 trophy sync error, a 8001050F error code prompt, and a PS3 Trophy error appearing stating “Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. The game will now quit.”
