Mezhgan Hussainy confirms to press today that she is engaged to Cowell. But just days ago Cowell said “No! No. I’m not engaged.’”

His rep also added then “Yes, they are they an item. Yes, they’re happy. But they’re not engaged. That’s straight from Simon’s mouth.”

So much for what comes out of Simon’s mouth.

The rumors were started by Australia’s Herald Sun claiming the engagement offer was on Valentine’s Day. A source had said, “Simon may come across as Mr Nasty on screen but he’s a big softie at heart. He wanted to do something unexpected and out of character on Valentine’s Day and decided to splash out on a ring. Mish was speechless and gave him a huge kiss. He is besotted with her, and she him.”

Is Mr Mean making someone happy?

How deep is the Julia Mancuso Lindsey Vonn dispute? While the Julia Mancuso Lindsey Vonn dissing dispute is being played as Olympic-caliber catfight today, one says there is no dispute, another is not talking.

And yet, while the Julia Mancuso Lindsey Vonn dispute on the Hills of Vancouver sounds more fitting for a Lauren Conrad Heidi Montag dispute on the Hills of MTV, the Julia Mancuso Lindsey Vonn mad mouthing didn’t started today. It started three days before the Olympic games.

Even huhby / press savy Thomas Vonn is getting on the action. He says of the Mancuso dispute:

“It’s not like Lindsey slipped everybody $100 to write a story about her. She skied well coming in. When you ski well coming into an Olympics, you’re going to get more attention.”

Someone tell Thomas that Mancuso won silver in the women’s downhill on Tuesday and silver in the super-combined on Wednesday. She also won Gold in Turin.

Her bio reads as follows:

“At 2006 Olympics at Turin, Italy, won gold in giant slalom, and finished 7th in downhill, 9th in combined and 11th in super-G; at 2002 Olympics at Salt Lake City, finished 13th in combined; set U.S. mark for Junior World Championships medals with eight before she was out of her teens, and started her 20s by capturing two World Championships medals and establishing record for most consecutive top-3 finishes at U.S. National Championships with 16; closed 2009 season with 10th U.S. Championship, tying Bode Miller for most all-time;

“Has made 260 World Cup starts, finishing on podium 19 times with four victories; has made 18 Europa Cup starts with one podium finish, 2nd in super-G in 2000; has 24 top-10 finishes at Nor-Am Cup with five wins, three in giant slalom; has five FIS Race victories, three in giant slalom and two in super-G; 2009 winter proved to be a challenge for Mancuso, who missed the World Cup podium for the first time since 2006 while dealing with a nagging back injury.”

At issue is a Vonn crash that cost Mancuso a medal. Vonn said of her crashing and is affect on Mancuso:

“I feel terrible for Julia. I wanted to finish, I wanted to have a good run, and by no means did I want that to happen to Julia. With the course conditions deteriorating the way they were, it was really difficult for her to come down with a fast time. I really hope she can ski the way she’s been skiing and have a good second run.”

“I try to support Julia as much as I support all the other teammates. I’ve been racing with Julia since I was a little kid. Yes, we’re competitors, but I always support her. It definitely has hurt me that she has said some negative things about me.”

MEDAL COUNT – Here is the current Olympic count for the 2010 Olympics. Today’s Olympic Medal Count puts the US widening their lead even more significantly in the overall race while Germany, Norway, and especially Canada have caught up significantly in the Gold Medal count.

The big number is the overall medal count where the U.S. has as many as double the number of silver and bronze medals compared to the third place country – Norway – and as many as three times compared to the fifth place country – Russia.

Overall medal count numbers put the US at 32, Germany at 26, Norway at 19, Canada at 17, and Russia at 13.

But for gold medals, it’s tied at 8 for US, Germany, and Canada, with Norway at 7 and Russia at 3

VIDEO. Video online is identified as Killer Whale Kills Trainer footage. The actual Killer Whale Kills Trainer Footage, a home video taken Wednesday, was discussed in detail on GMA this morning.

Yet several news channels are putting on their sites now footage they claim was seconds before the death of the trainer. But is that accurate?

WESH’s video says its “seconds” before the trainer was killed. “A family from New Hampshire visiting SeaWorld Orlando shoots a home video seconds before a whale trainer is killed.”

But nowhere in the video is depicted what is described on GMA Friday as happening seconds before. In the WESH, the trainer is shown already in the water, above the surface, looking at the camera happy riding around.

That’s not what was described as the scene moments before by another person.

On Friday, GMA interviewed Thad Lacinak about what happened seconds before. Thad said he watched a video that shows Brancheau allowing her ponytail to drop into the water in front of the killer whale, prompting him a message to play. At that point the killer whale grabbed Brancheau by her ponytail in his mouth, yanked her into the water, and brought her to her death.

Lacinak says Brancheau would agree to her mistake if alive.

Thad is the former head trainer at SeaWorld.  Lacinak added he thought that Brancheau’s mistake caused her death and Brancheau would confirm that if alive.

30 minutes after defeating USA 2-0, the Canadian women began their celebration … on the ice. Included? Champagne! Beer! and Cigars!

One even poured the champagne in the mouth of another player. The IOC – which kicked Scotty Lago out for hanging a medal around his waist, hasn’t yet said anything but it’s “not what we want to see”?

So is Scotty Lago at home, but Canadian women can stay? The women did this all right there on the Olympic ice, not at a local establishment away from the Olympic activity like Lago. In fact, they are pictured smoking and slurping right on top of the Olympic symbol.

“We understand that they were asked to go back onto the playing field after the stadium had emptied to take a photo. We understand that some people may have felt that their behavior was over-exuberant. In terms of the actual celebration, it’s not exactly something uncommon in Canada.”

If Lago went home, should they too?
