The magazine is claiming John Edwards and his former mistress are engaged, that he has bought a $3.5 million swanking mansion for themselves and are planning a wedding.

John Edwards – who has perfected the art of denial – says this report is untrue. Edwards initially denied his affair, then admitted it, then denied the Hunter’s baby was his, then admitted it. Now as to rumors that he is engaged, yep, he’s denying again.

Honestly, this story has been killed to death. It was interesting in 2008 when LALATE first broke the details to you. What makes this story even halfway interesting now 2 years later is unclear. Everyone knew the affair was true when the report broke, and he denied it, and everyone that the baby was his, when he denied. Rather Edwards’ ridiculous denials have dragged this 2008 story out over 2 years when it could have run its course in a mere 60 days in the summer of ‘08.

The news comes as an alleged Rielle Hunter John Edwards tape is in the hand of a judge. The Rielle Hunter John Edwards’ mistress scandal tape is continuing its tour of government agencies and now has landed in chambers of North Carolina, Superior Court Judge Abraham Penn Jones.

Jones told Andrew Young to hand him over the tape yesterday. Hunter has sued Young over the tape. The content has not been confirmed as Edwards nor Hunter nor has the subject matter

As broke weeks back on LALATE, the claim is that woman depicted on tape (allegedly Hunter) as very pregnant. Hunter, however, claims the tape was recorded in 2006. The problem? Hunter wasn’t pregnant until 2007.

Hunter filed a length affidavit about the tape in her bid to block it, other tapes, and photos this week. Rielle describes the tape in question as the following:

“In or about December 2006, the decision was made that the video should be destroyed.

“Therefore, I opened up the plastic casing of the miniDV cassette and pulled out the tape contained therein. However, because I was concerned that persons seeking information about my activities were or could be searching my trash, I decided to instead store the remains of the miniDV tape in a hatbox in which I stored other important personal items in order to maintain possession and control over the video. I did not take any action that would obliterate the contents of the tape itself.”

So when did the tape disappear?

“I learned the video recordings were missing in September or October 2008, in conjunction with a move of my personal belongings. I believe the Youngs or one of them in fact have possession of the video and/or one or more copies of the video.”

Recently John Edwards separated from Elizabeth Edwards. Rielle Hunter pics have been on blast for three years.

Andrea Purse, a friend of Elizabeth Edwards, tells AP that Elizabeth has separated is required by North Carolina law prior to filing a divorce proceeding.

After months of denials, avoidance, and allegedly hiding in the Beverly Hills Hilton bathrooms while being pursued by the National Enquirer, the non forthcoming Edwards finally admits the obvious – he is Rielle Hunter’s baby daddy!

And he couldn’t have done this months ago?

Edwards recently said:

“I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves”.

It’s about time.

“It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me.

“To all those I have disappointed and hurt, these words will never be enough, but I am truly sorry.”

“I am Quinn’s father. I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace.

“I have been providing financial support for Quinn and have reached an agreement with her mother to continue providing support in the future.”
