TRAVEL – Airport delays are striking Philadelphia International Airport today. Airport delays for Philadelphia International Airport come 24 hours AFTER Dulles was closed.

As of 5:22 AM PST Thursday, Dulles is open. But weather conditions in the region is causing isolated problems at PHL. While Philadelphia International Airport is open, weather delays are causing average 6 hour delays for travel in and out of Roanoke Regional/Woodrum. The concern is snow and ice buildup striking the airport at Roanoke Regional/Woodrum which is reportedly now closed

The FAA issued the following warning this morning still alert as of this moment:

“Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) Real-time Status The status information provided on this site indicates general airport conditions; it is not flight-specific. Check with your airline to determine if your flight is affected.

“ Due to WEATHER / SNOW-ICE, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving Philadelphia International Airport, Philadelphia, PA (PHL). This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 6 hours and 5 minutes. To see if you may be affected, select your departure airport and check

“ * Due to ICE, the Roanoke Regional/Woodrum Field Airport (ROA) was closed as of Feb 11 at 05:51 AM EST. The date/time when the airport is expected to reopen is Feb 11 at 07:00 PM EST.

“General Departure Delays: Because a traffic management program is delaying some arriving flights, departing flight schedules may be affected. Check with your airline to determine if your flight is affected.

“ General Arrival Delays: Arrival traffic is experiencing airborne delays of 15 minutes or less.“
