Peyton Manning MVP to Super Bowl Winner?!

A Super Bowl ring by Peyton Manning today could add to a MVP winning season. Peyton Manning’s Super Bowl 2010 comes in a season of already winning the MVP.
And in 2008, he did the same.
In 2008, LALATE first broke that Peyton Manning had been named AP and USA Today’s NFL MVP 2008, becoming the only three time winner with Brett Favre.
That year, Peyton was a “landslide winner” in voting by 50 writers and broadcasters. Manning previously won the MVP in 2003 and shared it with Steve McNair in 2004. Second place was Chad Pennington.
USA Today wrote in 2008 that “Peyton Manning, in his dependably overachieving fashion, emerged from the competition with yet another dominating performance that has earned him USA TODAY’s NFL MVP award.”
This year Manning did it again, breaking a new record.
A 2010 win put Manning as the first NFL player ever to win it four times. Manning won the NFL MVP by a landslide – 39 1/2 votes compared to Drew Brees’ 71 1/2. In third was Phillip Rivers (2 votes) and Favre (1). Favre has won the award three times.
In a statement then, Peyton Manning said the following:
“I’m very humbled and grateful to be honoured with this award and I really feel like it is a reflection of our team.
“I have to believe that starting 14-0 and having seven comeback wins has a lot to do with this award coming our way, and I’m very grateful to all the players and the coaches and our fans, who were a big part of it. There were a number of other extremely deserving candidates.”
