Dexter Manley’s Ring!

Dexter Manley has his Super Bowl ring back. Dexter Manley’s Super Bowl ring was pawned to buy illegal substances.
In 1991, Manley was banned from the NFL after failing substance tests.
But eight years later, friend and lawyer Joh O’Quinn reportedly bought the ring back for Manley and surprised him. Manley told O’Quinn to hold it for him until he fight he was clean. In the years that followed, Manley would be arrested again.
In October 2009, O’Quinn died in a car crash as covered on LALATE. Since then, South Texas College of Law professor Gerald Treece has been executor of O’Quinn’s estate. Suddenly this Wednesday, Treece found the ring and presented it to Manley.
Manley is thankful but wishes the moment could have been shared with the O’Quinn. Manley also earned a 1988 Super Bowl ring.
