Cochin Haneefa has died at age 58 after being hospitalized in a local Chennai facility. Cause of death was multiple organ failure brought on from kidney and liver disease treatment.
Cochin Haneefa came onto the film scene in the 1970s. In the decades that would follow, Cochin Haneefa would be involved in 300 films as either actor, director, and or screenwriter. The 1993 film Valtsalyam was considered one of his best.
Mahanadi was Cochin Haneefa’s most famous of 80 Tamil films delivered in those decades. He was teamed up with Bindhu Panicker, Jayaram, Kalabhavan Mani and Harisree Asokan in “Cochin Kalabhavan Troupe”
Among the awards Cochin Haneefa won were 2001’s Second Best Actor – Soothradharan, and 1999’s Best Supporting Actor. His films were:

BodyGuard (2010)
Funeral arrangements have not been announced. Cochin Haneefa will be greatly missed.
