MUGSHOT! Here is that infamous Rip Torn mug shot picture. Rip Torn’s mugshot for the burglary attempt this weekend has not been released.

But for reference, police say Torn was quite drunk when this  crime was allegedly committed, and at the time he was arrested.

The location of Torn’s alleged bank burglary was the Litchfield Bancorp building. Police issued a statement today saying Rip Torn was “with a loaded revolver and was highly intoxicated”.

Exactly one year ago, LALATE reported that Torn yesterday entered a not guilty plea to DUI charges of December 14. Torn, 77, in December 2008 was driving a Subaru when police found him driving in the breakdown lane. Torn refused to take a breath test. But his history with the law didn’t stop there.

Reportedly, “in 2007, Torn pleaded guilty in a New York court to driving while impaired. He was fined and lost his license. In 2004, a Manhattan jury acquitted him of driving drunk and causing a fender-bender.” And yes, the above mug shot is an older one.

Cops determined Torn was drunk at the time of the arrest.

He was arrest Friday for allegedly “breaking into a Main Street bank intoxicated, armed with a loaded revolver” reports local press.

Torn is reportedly being held on $100,000 bond and has an appearance Monday in Bantam Superior Court to face charges of “carrying a pistol without a permit, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief.”

Last night, Dario Franchitti spoke to the press five hours into the race.

“The conditions in the car were OK. It was a little warm in the car during the first stint, but then they pulled out a blocker in front of the driver ventilation system for the second run, and it was perfect inside the car. The balance was good. The conditions were tricky, expecially getting up to speed on cold tires. When you do get up to speed, there’s one lane around the track in a lot of places. As soon as you go through turn one through the horseshoe it’s one line. You can try to make a move, but you’ve got to be careful. Then from five all the way through the bus stop it’s treacherous as hell right now to the exit.

“We’re turning laps right now, not taking any chances. The Target/TELMEX car seems pretty quick. I’m quite happy right now. I had trouble with some of the switches. I couldn’t find where the drink bottle was, but once I found it, it turned out Dixon drank all the water, anyway. Everything’s working fine.”

“It’s a catch 22 situation. I want to watch the race, because it’s exciting – I’m a race fan and I want to see what’s happening. On the other hand, you’ve got to distance yourself and just focus on your job. So I’ll watch for a little while and sleep. I’ve got six hours until I get back into the car. I’ll probably eat, watch some SPEED TV and sleep, then get ready for another go in the middle of the night.

“Traffic is about as bad as normal. There were a few of the quicker GT cars that I was having some trouble with, which I didn’t expect. Most everybody is behaving themself.

“Chip asks if we want to do this race, and we all love coming here so we say yes. I enjoy it. Chip’s given me cars that can win every time I’ve gotten into one of his Indy Car or GRAND-AM cars. I enjoy this race, and coming with a car that can compete is pretty bloody good.”

“In my opinion, this is a better car than we had last year, and probably better than when we won it in ‘08. It’s a more competitive car right now. But who knows how it will be when the sun comes up tomorrow and how it will react? The trick here is to have a good car and not make any mistakes, and have some luck on your side too. If we can have that, we’re in pretty good shape. But as usual here, there are five or six cars that right now are potential race winners.”

UPDATE LIST – Here again is your 2010 Pro Bowl Roster for Sunday. Your Pro Bowl 2010 Roster had some changed at quarterback earlier in the week.

The game is January 31 at Dolphin Stadium in South Florida. The location is the same as Super Bowl XLIV, just one week earlier.

The 2010 NFL Bowl roster features Colts offense Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, and Jeff Saturday (backup) with Colts defense Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis.

Favre for the season is 338 for 500 with a 68% completion rate (his best completion rate ever in his career) with 3886 yards and 29 TDs, 7 INTs (lowest number ever in his career).

Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb has been announced as Drew Brees’ replacement. This McNabb’s sixth Pro Bow. McNabb has delivered this season 22 TDs, 10 INTs, and 3533 yards.

McNabb sparked the Eagles to an 11-5 season and a first-round playoff loss to Dallas. He threw for 3,553 yards and 22 touchdowns with 10 interceptions over 14 games.

Also joining the NFC lineup for the annual meeting with the American Conference was Eagles strong safety Quintin Mikell, who replaced the Saints’ Roman Harper. Mikell’s first Pro Bowl trip gives the Eagles nine players in the game.

The Minnesota Vikings have more players on the 2010 list than any other team with 8.

The Vikings’ 8 are Heath Farwell, Bryant McKinnie, Sidney Rice, Jared Allen, Brett Favre, Steve Hutchison, Adrian Peterson and Kevin Wiliams.

Herschel Walker has won his MMA Strikeforce Miami Fight! Herschel Walker’s MMA Strikeforce Fight resulted in a huge win tonight for Walker against challenger Greg Nagy.

Walker is 47, Nagy 26.

Walker won on the ground, reports Yahoo sports tonight, pulling his way out of multiple submission attempts by Nagy. “[He easily advanced to the full mount position multiple times, and he controlled Nagy in every way imaginable” reports the site.

Walker reportedly was fast, strong, and dominating tonight. The fight was stopped in the third with Walker holding Nagy down striking at the armpit’s rear.

It’s all a stark comparison to the bizarre sadness put forward recently by Jose Canseco’s entry. The question is now if Walker will fight again soon, and if so, again which competitor next!
