PHOTOS! Here again are pics of ESPN’s Craig James and an update on the Adam James matter. Craig James issued a statement about son Adam James yesterday after news Mike Leach was suspended.
Leach will be replaced by defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill for the Texas Tech vs Michigan State game in the Alamo Bowl on Jan. 2.
On Monday night, LALATE broke the first details of Craig James and Adam James just shortly after news of Leach’s suspension.
Now new developments Tuesday. ESPN spoke with Leach’s attorney who not only defends his client’s actions but says he has proof they not only didn’t harm Adam James but helped him.
“Ted Liggett said he has a letter from the doctor who examined James that supports Leach’s actions. “He was not hurt by what happened in the equipment room,” the lawyer said. “And Mike did not do anything to worsen the situation, in fact he put him in a safer environment by being inside.” “

Craig James joined ESPN in 2003.
“Standout college and professional football running back and veteran analyst Craig James joined John Saunders and Terry Bowden as an analyst for ABC Sports’ college football studio show from Times Square Stadium in September 2003.”
On Monday, the James family reportedly issued in part the following statement:
“Mr. and Mrs. James took the step with great regret and after consideration and prayer to convey to the Texas Tech administration that their son had been subjected to actions and treatment not consistent with common sense rules for safety and health”.
Craig James was with the Patriots and 1984 Rookie of the Year, as detailed in his ESPN bio:
“He was on the First Team All-Southwest Conference from 1980-83, and played for the USFL’s Washington Federals (1983-84) and NFL’s New England Patriots (1984-88).”
“With New England, James was NFL Rookie of the Year in 1984, when he rushed for 790 yards, and was voted New England’s “Most Valuable Player” and NFL “Offensive Player of the Year” by The Vince Lombardi Committee in 1985, when he rushed for 1,227 yards and five touchdowns. James was a starter in the 1986 Pro Bowl and Super Bowl XX.”
