The Rev A7X DEAD – A7X Drummer Dies – Autopsy Coroner’s Report

The Rev of A7X is dead at age 28. The Rev, A7X’s famed drummer, has died, cause of death pending an autopsy by the local coroner.
Huntington Beach police Lt. John Domingo tells the Orange County Register an autopsy by the Orange County Coroner’s Office is scheduled. But Domingo tells the Register he believes The Rev of A7X died of natural causes.
Late Monday night, LALATE first broke the shocking details, famed heavy metal musician James Owen Sullivan, aka Jimmy Sullivan or The Rev, had died at his home in Huntington Beach at age 28. Now over 8 hours later, the news still seems hard to believe.
How big is A7X? Just look back at who the group beat out in 2006. In 2006, A7x won “Best New Artist” at MTV’s Video Music Awards, beating out Rihanna and Chris Brown.
A7X (Avenged Sevenfold) was co founded by Sullivan in 1999, went to number 4 in 2007.
City of Evil put the band on the map, A7X’s third album but first major label release. The album debuted on Billboard at 30. Single Bat Country went to #2 on Billboard’s Rock chart and #1 on TRL. The album was named by Guitar World #63 on 100 Greatest Guitar Albums of All-Time.

The band played Ozzfest tour in 2006 and was in the studio working on a 3rd album.
Sullivan is survived by wife Leana MacFadden aka Leana Silver.
Notable songs that Jimmy Sullivan sang on for Avenged Sevenfold included “A Little Piece of Heaven”, “Brompton Cocktail”, “Gunslinger”, “Lost”, “Afterlife”, and “Almost Easy”. Sullivan was also drummer with Suburban Legends.
The band confirmed his death Monday night:
“It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan.
“Jimmy was not only one of the world’s best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy’s family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time. Jimmy you are forever in our hearts. We love you.”
Funeral arrangements have not been announced. The Rev will be greatly missed. Send your love.

I am IN F%*KEN SHOCK! I’ve LOVED and worshiped this band since their first album ‘Sounding the Seventh Trumpet.” This is just mind-blowing because Jimmy was only 28, some say he died of natural causes. AT 28! somthing’s definately wrong here. I love you Jimmy! I know that we A7X fans will get thru this. Best wishes to the band, Jimmy’s friends and family. oxox

Heres a story, read it if you care…
In school i studied guitar and xylophone but my love for A7X grew and grew until i had to say fuck xylo bring on the drums. I have been playing for 4 months and have reached an incredible level for those of you in the know, I am studying at grade 9-10 level.
The Reason im saying this is, He was my motivation, not the instrument in general, Him. His Playing helped mine grow and i know i wouldnt have got anywher like i have if it wasnt for him.
“One day im just gonna get off the bus, and im gonna run and never come back. And when i come back…”
A7X wont be the same. No one will replace you
R.I.P Jimmy

I really can’t believe this. I can’t stop thinking about it since I heard he died. He will forever be the best drummer ever. R.I.P the Rev, I will never forget you <3
on December 30th, 2009 at 11:16 am
When I started playing drums, about 5 years ago, Jimmy Sullivan was practically my biggest inspiration. Him and Avenged Sevenfold were two of the strongest reasons for why I got into metal back in that day. I will never forget how this God has influenced me as I progress forward into the music scene. Like almost all Avenged fans, I have been paying my respects in the biggest ways possible like listening the their albums; especially Waking the Fallen which opened my mined and eyes as a drummer, and wearing Avenged band memorabilia in mourning of Jimmy “the Rev” Sullivan. May everyone do the same and tips their hats to this many who deserves more than what the world of A7X fans can offer him… but we sure as Hell can and will try! …God Bless You Jimmy, And May You Forever Rest In Peace. We Love You Brother.

A7X is one of the best bands that ever hit this fucked up world but without THE REV i doubt that band will have the great sound the once had. The drummer is always the heart of the band, its a fact. THE REV made that band into something no other band could sound like.he will be well missed dearly andd remained loved by billions of people like myself. to A7X- KEEP JIMMY ALIVE IN ALL OF OUR HEARTS MAKE THE MUSIC HE WOULD BE PROUD OF..god bless yall…ROCK ON A7X!!!!!!
