A7X’s the Rev is survived by wife Leana MacFadden aka Leana Silver. Leana Silver and The Rev lived in Huntington Beach.
The Rev was 28.
Reports indicate that Silver and Jimmy Sullivan started dating in 2006 and married in January this year. 2006 was also the year in which A7X earned the “Best New Artist” award at MTV’s Video Music Awards, taking the top honor over fellow newcomers Rihanna and Chris Brown.
The Rev had told fans he was most influenced by drummers the likes of Vinnie Paul, Mike Portnoy, and Terry Bozzio. Fans today are remembering not only the music and legacy of The Rev but how he inspired them to play.
After forming in 1999, A7X starting getting major recognition in 2004. As fans will remember, that same year Avenged Sevenfold joined the Vans Warped Tour again while their music video for “Unholy Confessions” joined rotation in MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball. A year later they would be signed to Warner Bros and release their first major label album – City of Evil.
City of Evil put the band on top of the charts. The album debuted on Billboard at 30. Single Bat Country went to #2 on Billboard’s Rock chart and #1 on TRL. The album was named by Guitar World #63 on 100 Greatest Guitar Albums of All-Time.

Late Monday night, LALATE first broke the shocking details, famed heavy metal musician James Owen Sullivan, aka Jimmy Sullivan or The Rev, had died at his home in Huntington Beach at age 28. Now over 8 hours later, the news still seems hard to believe.
Huntington Beach police Lt. John Domingo tells the Orange County Register an autopsy by the Orange County Coroner’s Office is scheduled. But Domingo tells the Register he believes The Rev of A7X died of natural causes.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced. The Rev will be greatly missed. Send your love.

I’m still waiting for ashton kutcher to tell all of us that we have been punked. this is unreal hard to believe and extremely sad. he was one of the best and will be missed and thought of every day

When I heard the news I was shocked. I was hoping that this was nothing more than a joke or a hoax but sadly, that isn’t so. I don’t know how A7X will go on without him. Jimmy was one of the best drummers in the world and I for one will truly miss him

when one of my friends told me i thought he was just telling lies like he usually does. But then i asked one of my reliable friends Matt and he confirmed my doubt. then it sunk in, i cried in my algebra class and all day after. when i got home i googled it and found that it was completely true! i just kept crying

i’ve been grounded for grades, so i didnt have a computer,so when i spent the weekend at my friends house on the 16th, i wanted to watch “afterlife”, so i typed it in.3 videos under it, it said “jimmy “the rev” sullivan dies at 28″ i thought it was a prank, so i started watching it. it turned out to be the band members talking about the rev. 5 minutes into the video,i was crying so hard i almost fell out of my chair,and i didnt stop for four hours! a7x is and always will be,my most favorite band.
