The Chargers vs. Titans football game is the latest sporting event subjected to the fake “live stream” stories of 2009. The most recent and notable was the Cowboys vs Saints game. During that game, some sites continued to claim to have live streams even after the net was aware they didn’t exist.

As fake celebrity deaths dominated people in 2009, fake sports stream stories dominated events in 2009. The most common use of the fake stream is for events that are not televised on basic tv or cable television. Virtually ever UFC fight has had a fake stream story – even thought the UFC has its own streaming video option. Boxing matches have gotten the fake stream too. But for football, fake stream stories have most often dominated the NFL Network games because many people don’t have cable and those that do many don’t have the NFL Network.
