John Kerry’s wife Teresa Heinz Kerry has breast cancer. Teresa Heinz Kerry, 71, learned of the breast cancer during a recent mammogram.
Teresa Heinz was born Maria Teresa Thierstein Simões-Ferreira. She would later marry U.S. Senator H. John Heinz III. Following his death, Heinz would inherit the Heinz fortune.
She reportedly first met John Kerry at a 1990 Earth Day rally, then again at a 1992 Earth Summit. In 1993, the couple started dating, and in 1995 they were married.
