Tennessee football is allegedly under investigation for its  “hostesses” claims reports. What do Tennessee Football “hostesses” do?

The female “hostesses” are reported by the New York Times and ESPN today. Of note, ESPN puts the word “hostesses” in quotations, the Times does not.

Who are these …. “hostesses”? They are female. And how about their looks? One high school football player quoted by the Times was surprised to see them show up at his game, traveling 200 miles just to see him. He said of the “hostesses” that they are “real pretty, real nice and just real cool”.

The football player added “You don’t want to go to a college where [the girls] ain’t pretty.” The Times claims “other Tennessee hostesses have publicly conversed with prospects through Facebook and MySpace. Some recruits say their influence is significant.”

Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton said the school is under investigation by the NCAA but won’t detail why. “Typically, we do not comment on inquires that are in progress.”
