VIDEO – Here are you 2009 Woodie Award winners plus video! But what are the Woodie Awards? Tonight are the mtvU Woodie Awards 2009 given to musicians based upon student votes across college campuses.

mtvU broadcasts in dorm rooms across the U.S. and the award show aires Friday night (also on MTV) giving golden logs to student’s favorite acts.

Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz presented, Death Cab performed “Meet Me on the Equinox”, Cyndi Lauper makes a great performance, and Dead Weather ends the night.

MTV says of tonight’s show:

“[K]eep in mind that there is only one place where you can see Death Cab for Cutie perform “Meet Me on the Equinox,” the guys from 3OH!3 dress in drag, Asher Roth stage dive, the Dead Weather melt faces, Cam’ron lyrically throw down with the Clipse, Matt and Kim strip down and Mary-Louise Parker shout ….. That place? The 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards, which air at 10 p.m. on MTV, MTV2 and mtvU.

“…. Tonight’s show not only features the live performances by Death Cab for Cutie, the Dead Weather and the Clipse but also Matt and Kim and Passion Pit. Winners tonight included Green Day, Kings of Leon, Matt & Kim, Never Shout Never, Tech N9ne, Jamie Tworkowski and KUPS 90.1.
