Max Hall Post Game Comments

What was Max Hall post game comments? BYU’s Max Hall Post game comment was “[The Utes] didn’t deserve to win!”

Really?

The BYU quarterback’s comments come as the Utah Utes lead a 17 point scoring march in the 4th quarter Saturday which would send the Utah vs. BYU game into overtime. Final score would be 23-26.

Hall for the season is 256 for 379 on passing with 3368 yards, 30 TDs, and 14 interceptions. Max Hall’s completion rate is not improved this season over 2008’s 69%.

On Saturday he was 12 for 32, with 134 yards, 2 TDs and no interceptions.

Personally I have no problem with what Max Hall said during his post game interview. He’s right, Utah did not deserve (earn) to win. They managed to eek out a single touchdown and had the ball 3 times at point blank range and couldn’t punch it in. They made the same mistake 4 times (interfering with the oportunity to make a fair catch) that cost them 60 yards in penalties. Hall had an off day but didn’t turn the ball over and had 2 TD passes and the Cougs still won. That’s just football. Last year the Cougars didn’t deserve to win either. Hall got picked repeatedly in that game against a defense that went on to expose Alabama for the fraud they are in the Sugar Bowl. It’s sports. One team does what it takes to win and one team doesn’t.
Hall’s venom toward Utah is understandable as well but I didn’t necessarily agree with everything he said. I do however get where he’s coming from. What was lost and continues to be lost in all of this was the fact that he also called out BYU fans who hide behind screen names and post their baseless and factless opinions and hide behind their annonymity. At least he’s not hiding when he calls out Utah and he explained; justified or not why he hates them and their program. Unless you’re Max Hall, you don’t know why this animosity runs so deep but I’m sure he has a very good reason. Anyone who ran around a football stadium with a blow up sex doll with (insert rival’s name)’s Mom written on the forehead or throws beer on someone’s family deserves a severe beat down publically. At least Max Hall did it the right way – between the hashmarks. Do you honestly think that if you paraded down the middle of any neighborhood street in most of America with a sex doll with your neigbor’s mom’s name on the forhead you’d get away with it? In some neighborhoods you wouldn’t make it to the corner without being shot. Don’t blame a kid for speaking his mind when he’s asked, and then castigate him for it, it’s duplicitious. Oh wait, I’m talking about the media, what was I thinking?

Do I agree with Max Hall’s statement about Utah “didn’t deserve to win”? I’m still trying to decide that, but i’m also trying to decide if BYU deserved it. It was a game riddled with penalties and some foul play which overshadow the fact that it was an impressive defensive struggle and hard hitting game. Do I think Max Hall handled himself well after the game? No I do not. I understand that there is a rivalry and this game was all about redemption from last year, but he acted like a child. Look at Texas and Oklahoma, The most famous rivalry in college football. No one has ever had a better reason to hate a team than Colt McCoy last year. Texas proved their dominance over OU, then because of the way that bcs works, had to watch that team play in the national championship. Some say Texas was the best team in the nation last year, and I agree with them. I also agree with the people who say that USC was the best team last year, and those who say Utah was. I realize Florida won the “national championship” but they never played Texas, USC, or Utah so we’ll never know how those games would have gone. It’s fair to call a four way tie for the 2008 season. I’m getting a little off topic so i’m going to go back to my point. Texas had to watch a team that stomped go to the national championship. If that isn’t grounds to hate a team, I don’t know what is. Despite this Colt McCoy is good friends with both Bob Stoops and Sam Bradford. The biggest rivalry in the nation and the two quarterbacks are friends!!!! This just proves how big a poor sport Max Hall is. I understand that fans threw beer on his family, and I’m not trying to take away from how despicable that is, but that is no grounds to say that you hate everything about Utah. Utah is one of the most prestigious medical schools in the nation, the Utah crowds are some of the nicest people i’ve ever had the opportunity to watch a sporting event with, and many of the LDS church authorities not only watch BYU games but Utah as well. Recently deceased Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin played for Utah and attended many of their games. Max Hall should have thought about all these facts before he opened his mouth and said, “I hate everything about em. I hate their program, I hate their fans, I hate everything.” and “I think the whole university is classless.” Oh by the way when Chambers has to dive into Utah players to get an Interference call, and when a linebacker gets a flag for arguing with the official, those aren’t exactly the grounds for “deserve to win.”

Max hall needs to grow up. he won the game and he should have left it at that but instead he had to ruin his win by making himself look like a jerk. he says utah has no class well the way he was talking it sounds like he is a hypocrite. Hall next time you call another program classless make sure you are not being an idiot yourself.
