Who Won Dancing with the Stars 2009?

Who won Dancing with the Stars 2009? Dancing with the Stars 2009 winner is … DONNY OSMOND! Donny Osmond won Dancing with the Stars 2009 beating out expected winner Mya and fan favorite Kelly Osbourne.
Mya had commanded the point lead into the finale earning 87, Donny 84, and Kelly with 76. Final standings were Donny & Kym, Mya and & Dmitry, and Kelly & Louis, with final point scoring come in at 115, 115, and 102
It was a big comeback season for Mya who on September 20, 2009 suffered glass shattering into her hand. She was rushed to a local hospital but returned without missing a performance.
Marie told FOX these were her words of encouragement to Donny before tonight’s show:
“I know Donny would like to win, but this is what I told him. ‘Donny, I would really love you to win it. You’re older than me, you’re a grandpa, but the girls dance harder.’
“We do the splits, we put our legs up on the guy, we do fifteen spins into flying death drops… I hope he wins, he is so competitive. It would be good for him.”
Congrats to Donny!
So the big question … do you think he deserved to win? And what did you think of this season’s cast?

What a joke !!! How can anyone who just stands there win. Donny hardly move, win. Maya deserved to win, she was robbed. This show is a joke. And I for one will not be watching anymore.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:09 am
Yes! Donny deserved to win. I had been rooting for Mya the entire season, but Donny really started to grow on me. I’m in my mid-thirties & didn’t “grow-up” with Donny & Marie. I felt more connected to Mya, but something about her lack of connection to Dmitry didn’t sit well with me. That aside, she is a superb dancer! Congratulations Donny.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:11 am
I am in complete agreement with Jose. Donny Osmond won is a big joke. Maya is the star who should win.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:20 am
That was a fantastic final show, WHAT A HOOT!!! I hope I speak for all 50 + men out there when I say, Donny You The Man!!!!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:21 am
I kept personal score through the whole show- Mya had gotten 4 wins of 30 where as Donny only two? The math does not add up to Donny winning- I will never watch DWTS again!!!!!!!! Completely Rigged! What is the point of voting?
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:24 am
I am very upset, mya was robbed : (
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:26 am
You know I love this show but they full of S they know mya should of won and just because donny stared doing good yesterday they wanna let that man win I’m staring too think that show is full of it but everyone no mya should of won bottom line….
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:27 am
I am in complete agreement with Jose. All my family extremely disappointed with judgment. Maya and Dmitry are the winners. This show is a big joke.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:34 am
Congratulations Donny. I met donny once… before his comeback in the Late 80’s. We sat and talked at the rehearsal at the Grammy’s . It was funny to see him trying to get work like an “overegar” premature high school Grad. Passing out Business cards to anyone who would take one. My point is that Donny’s hard working don’t ever give up and keep dancing till “the Fat lady sings spirit is an Example for the rest of us Who are sitting back watching this show with a Hem and a Ha . So put down your stones America and get up and DANCE. Mitch Goldstein of Sonoma

I am writing from Ireland and will only get to see the final this coming Friday 27th Nov. I am so shocked that Donny won. Was he better on the night cause i find it so hard to believe he beat Mya?
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:41 am
Hey Mitch! Very good point…he who works the hardest gets the reward. I was a Mya/Donny fan so either way, it works for me. Very hard to judge men against the women. Even the male pro’s don’t move around as much as the female pro’s but Donny blended in as one of them last night which made me realize he had accomplished quite a bit this season. AND he’s 50! Go Donny!
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:44 am
A disgusting ending but obviously one that the judges wanted and Entertainment Tonight should be renamed the Donny & Marie show because they only pushed Donny to their viewers. Mya was the best..loved Kelly
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:45 am
Don’t forget people that the fans vote, and Donny has been around alot longer than the rest, He won the hearts of the public, so congratulations Donny, you make us proud, and your spirit and love for entertaining prevailed over competing and winning, also Kelly was another winner in all this, through her personal growth.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:49 am
I am very dissappointed. Mya and Dimitri should have won. She danced well every week maintaining high scores even though Lynn was prejudiced against her in the beginning, but that is another story. Donny made mistakes and many times his partner did the work. Donny is known for his showmanship and boy did it work. Lets not forget he is very, very popular, a male and caucasion. Dont get me wrong I like Donny but this show is a popularity contest, usually with a male winner, athough the women work so hard in heels, and there has only been one black winner in the nine seasons aired. Yes there has been other good talent Lela Ali and Mel Be. Both very good dancers who should have one. Mya was a professional. She endured Lynn’s criticism, she never missed steps as Donny did. What a joke, America hasn’t changed. Mya and Dimitri really won, this show is lost, I am so angry, this is so unfair)-: )-: )-: )-:
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:51 am
Congratulations to Donny even though i feel he was hand given the win out of pitty !!!!.However it was obvious that Mya and Demtri were the better dancers, they won the most by the judges…I feel like the majority, Mya should have won hands down..The girl had all the moves down pact everytime unlike Donny..I now feel this show is rigged for who the producers want to win which means i will never watch dancing with the stars again !!!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:51 am
But remember guys it is the American public who vote! I dont agree with the result but obviously the public though Donny the better dancer, sorry..
on November 25th, 2009 at 3:29 am
Mario, Lil Kim, and now the best ever Mya has been screwed out of what was obviously theirs. Real champions not deemed the rightful winner of Dancing With the Stars; sort of like re-electing George W. Bush. How racist, how ignorant, how wrong of America or either this rigged show. I predicted this would happen three weeks ago once I saw just out-right animosity from some of the other contestants, and unfair scoring that continued to occur from the past and this season. Another show off my list. Advise no person of color to participate on this show, even if they decide to give you the trophy next season. I guest Sarah Palin will become President of the U.S. 2012 if voting turnouts are like this; just in time for “the end of the world” I hope not to see it.

Mya and Dmitri played it safe. They didn’t go out with a bang. Being a professional dancer, I never would have voted for Mya. Yes she was the favorite. Yes she did very well. However, when its the last dance you pull out all the stops. You go out there and give it your best shot. They didn’t do that. Sorry Mya. You lost by playing it safe.

Mya shouldn’t of been on the show to begin with since this is what she does for a living..I am glad Donny won…
on November 25th, 2009 at 4:46 am
I am so glad Donny won, hes older and he worked very hard, its easier for girls to dance but not for all guys. it came natural to mya, with her big face and eyes and so was to sure she was going to win well guess what congradulations Donny! great job
on November 25th, 2009 at 5:04 am
I see that many of you don’t understand how the scoring works. People call in to vote. Judges scores are only PART of the whole thing.
NOW, here is WHY Donny won…
The folks that voted for Donny are mostly die-hard fans and voted for him no matter how he did. Mya did dance the best most of the time but her problem was not Donny. It was Kelly that siphoned off enough of the votes that would have went to Mya to make the difference. If you don’t understand what I am talking about, look up Ross Perot and maybe you will get it. As for anybody wanting to whine racism, get a life. Please.

I thought Donny came along way I was very happy for him. It’s harder for the guy because they have to lead or at least look like their leading…good for you Donny
on November 25th, 2009 at 5:42 am
Congratulations to Donny Osmond!
I’m happy for Donny because I just like him!
on November 25th, 2009 at 5:53 am
Obviously Jose was not watching very much if he can say Donny just stood there. Obviously, the Judges didn’t think so either, that is why they kept making the comments about him being a performer. Last time I checked performers do not just stand there. For the one keeping track of the points from the Judges, it is not just up to the Judges that is why at the end of the routines they would put up numbers for the america to call and vote for who they wanted. Don’t hate on Donny because america liked him better than Mya. I feel either Donny or Kelly should have won over Mya because neither one of them had very much if any at all dancing experience behind them where as Mya did. In my opinion they did the best because they are what the competition should be about. Hooray for Donny!!!!!!!!!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 6:28 am
Yahoo! I am so glad that Donny won! He worked so hard through out the competition and u could see how much it meant to him. On the other hand there was just something that I did not like about Mya, maybe it was that she was just too over confident that she thought she would win for sure!
on November 25th, 2009 at 6:35 am
I agree with Heather. Donnie was great and worked very hard. Mya was awsome but was too over confident for sure.
on November 25th, 2009 at 6:53 am
hey folks, this is not a dance competition, this is a popularity contest. remember back when mario & emmit were on? emmit won, but mario was the better dancer. donny has been around ALOT longer than mya, he’s got more fans, & that is who votes. congrats to donny, well done mya. good show!

on November 25th, 2009 at 7:01 am
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL NOT BE WATCHING THE SHOW ANYMORE. YOU KNOW I KEPT TELLING PEOPLE THE SHOW WOULD BE FAIR, BUT NOW I SEE IT’S NOT. US BLACK WOMEN DO NOT STAND A CHANCE
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:14 am
Mya’s dances on Monday night did not compare to Donny’s. Her pasa doble was terrible she should have only received 5’s not 10’s. I was really dosappointed with her dancing Monday night. Her freestyle was not good at all, I ecpected more from her. Donny and Kim where far superior. I am glad Donny won he was the hardest worker and Kelly was next. Mya was too full of herself even though most of the time I enjoyed watching her dance. But Donny just brought the IT factor to his dancing. He was enjoying himself and when he made mistakes he admitted it. It is much more difficult for the men as they have to lead the woman whereas the women follow what their partner does. I’m just glad that Joanna wasn’t in the finals as she is a hoeless dancer.
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:17 am
i grew up w/ donny & marie but truly feel maya is the winner - she deserves it and it’s only fair. let’s be honest, shall we?
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:27 am
First of all, let me say that I am disappointed at the awful grammar and spelling in many of the other comments; if you are going to put yourself out there and take a stand, try to sound half way educated when you do it!! Beyond that, the whole point of DWTS is that the PEOPLE vote!! The judges, obviously thought Mya was an amazing dancer, but people felt more affection and admiration for Donny!!! He wasn’t able to put his whole life on hold and “only” dance for 2 months like Mya……he really had to work for this win, and I am happy for him!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:35 am
Mya was consistantly excellent…Donny was NOT and the judges know it. The voting procedure should be changed. The only reason Donny and Kelly got as far as she did was because of their fan base. The show is losing it’s credibility.
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:38 am
MYA IS A SINGER AND NOT A DANCER SO YES SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE SHOW WHOEVER WROTE THAT. SHE WAS BETTER. DONNIE WAS COCKEY AND THE FAN BASE MADE HIM WIN. ALL BECAUSE OF ENTERTAINMENTS TONIGHT AND KISSING BUT HE WON. HE DID NOT DESERVE TO BE HANDED THE WIN. YOU ALL KNOW MYA WAS BETTER. KELLIE GREW SO MUCH SHE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT TO EVEN SEE HER WIN. DONNIE AND HIS FAMILY HAVE ALWAYS WANTED IT ALL TO BE BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE. MYA IS THE TRUE WINNER. SO CHANTEL KNOW YOUR FACTS BEFORE WRITING IN, MYA IS A SINGER AND LEARNED HOW TO DANCE JUST LIKE YOU AND ME. GET A LIFE AND LEARN HOW YOURSELF.
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:52 am
Mya deserved it. I agree she was robbed. He won cause people still think of his past instead of judging the performance.
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:53 am
the show has lost its credibility, compromising value for popularity. this is corruption.
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:56 am
Lori shut up I am disappointed that you took the time to read and analyze the grammar in everyones comments. GET A LIFE LLS!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:59 am
I love the show and will continue to watch. For those of you that think Mya was robbed remember back when Sabrina was eliminated. Mya had far more experience and a attitude that she just knew she was going to win. Kelly and Donny had much better personality. It’s all about entertainment and a break from the daily issues of life. Happy Thanksgiving to all
on November 25th, 2009 at 8:00 am
Very, very disappointed. Mya was consistently better for weeks. She was most definitely robbed of the title. Give me a break, Donnie has always been a joke. I feel like I wasted my time watching this show. I haven’t always agreed with the results but this was the last straw.
on November 25th, 2009 at 8:03 am
Was this a sympathy vote/award for Donny and his Sister……was it the SMILE….Mya and Dimitri won hands down…..what a joke……please take the show off the air….this is a disgrace the show should be rename Sympathy ….if sympathy was the factor ….Kelly won for her accomplishments
on November 25th, 2009 at 8:10 am
Mya should have WON, she was way better then him the entire season. I guess all the old ladies that loved him in the 70’s voted ofcourse. But Mya hands down should have took that.
on November 25th, 2009 at 8:27 am
The winner is not based on the judges scores, the winner is who the every day people, like you and me, vote for. Doesn’t matter who dances the best or gets the best judges scores, it is the number of votes accumulated by the general public. Maybe they should have 2 winners, one based on the judges scores and one on the public scores. There is no “rigging” the winner. Be happy for the guy, he was out there giving his all and the public liked him best. Congrats Donny and to all of them as they are all winners in my eyes. Can’t wait for next season.
on November 25th, 2009 at 8:28 am
Just take the show for what it is; fun entertainment. The three worked extremely hard. No one tried harder than Donny. The American public has spoken!!!! No matter who won, not everyone would be happy.
on November 25th, 2009 at 8:36 am
Poor “losers!” Yes, Mya (yes, folks, THAT is the correct spelling of her name) is an excellent dancer, however, she started running more towards showmanship versus technique, something that Donny was criticized for and dealt with over the season. Besides, this is a reality show, and in reality, sometimes your pick doesn’t win — ever watch Survivor? I’ve said the same thing when my pick doesn’t win on any other of these reality-based shows, but in the end, they have us hooked. That said, I am hoping reality TV is on the wane, regardless! Good, job, Donny, you have a lot to be proud of, despite the naysayers herein.
on November 25th, 2009 at 8:41 am
Bravo, Lori — she is right, folks, technology, etc. has made us all lazy in terms of correct spelling and grammar. You dumb yourself down when you don’t bother with the basics. As for DWTS, Laughing is right… technique versus showmanship, Donny wins. Showmanship and sex appeal, well we all know who voted for who. Nuff said. It’s over, go watch your next reality-based show and whine about how unfair life is.
on November 25th, 2009 at 8:47 am
What a waste of time — Mya is the best and you all know it!!! They feel sorry for Donny because he is old! Kelly was even better than Donny. You all know that MYA is the best!!!! GO MYA GO — We love you in Maryland. Donny is an old fart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

on November 25th, 2009 at 8:57 am
Mya and DImitri were clearly better the entire season. In fact Derek and Joanna were superior too.Just like in all star games , people vote for the wrong reasons and vote multiple times.Donny and his brothers did dance routines too, so this stuff about Mya’s experience is crap. This is the second seson in a row where the obvious best couple throughout the season did not win.Something must change.
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:07 am
Well folks…we should have known since we have a black president things like this will happen. Blacks have been get cheated all of their lives, so what’s new. We all know that MYA is the best, but we will suffer because of the way the world is.
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:22 am
Where any of you really watching the dancing for the past two nights? While Mya was the front runner from the beginning, she just didn’t pull it off. Perhaps she felt to secure?!? She never “raced to the end.” Her freestyle was one of the poorest–what a disappointment. She, unfortunately, lost it all based upon the final dances. And, as someone else pointed out, some of Mya’s votes certainly went to Kelly. In the end, Donny kept himself checked and in gear–racing to the finish line. Congratulations, Donny! Happy Thanksgiving!
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:26 am
give me a break. don’t make this into a racial thing. yes mya was a better dancer. joanna couldnt dance though, kenny, derek just did a phenomenal job faking it. her feet were terrible, always flexed. when all is said and done, donny had the spirit and charisma the others didn’t have. america decided. dancing with the stars is a joke, however. the judges are ridiculous and make a crazy show. want to watch a real dance show? watch so you think you can dance. want to watch celebrities? go to a concert/game/whatever else showcases their real talent.
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:26 am
I loved watching Mya dance. She was the better dancer and just because she knows how to dance doesn’t make her a profesional. There were many types of dances and I don’t remember ever seeing Mya doing the SAMBA on any of her videos. She deserved to be on the show and she deserved to win. Yet the votes went to the popular person not the most skilled dancer. Don’t get me wronge Donny was good at times, but Mya was GREAT all the time. Kelly was ok, she did grow in the show, but HOW did she beat the out the previous couple. Are we watching the same show?
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:31 am
I continually tried to get my vote cast via phone, but for over an hour the lines were busy… Mya lost votes due to the phone system.
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:36 am
Most of us GOT IT for we have eyes to see and a brain.. Mya as Mario in the past should have won. They play favorities on the show and that is obvious. Asking us to vote is just a facade and are taking us for fools. I am in agreement to not watch this show if it makes it to another season. In the big picture Mya is great and will continue to be so. Mya ROCKS and true talent cannot be denied. She will go on to better and greater things. Oh, one more thing Mya did not play it safe she was convinced by her partner/choreographer to go with that last dance routine hummm.
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:36 am
I can’t believe that anyone would turn Donny’s well-deserved win into an issue of race. Simply unbelievable!
Horrifying spelling and grammar aside,,,, (I agree with Lori) Donny obviously had the greater challenge in the last ten weeks.
Mya is a fabulous dancer, so are Kelly and Joanna, but this competition and show are not only about technique. Any one of them deserved to win for unique reasons.
The competition’s runners up have more class than the viewers when it comes to losing gracefully. If Mya or Kelly had won I’m sure Donny’s fans wouldn’t be trashing the results.
Congratulations, Donny!!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:41 am
Yes, Mya’s free style was not great, but if we are going to determine the winner over one dance then why have the show on for 2 1/2 months? Voters voted for Donny when he looked like a clown and when his partner’s dress tore. So don’t give me that crap about the final dance was the deciding factor. It is all about popularity not about the skill.
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:41 am
I AM REALLY GLAD THAT DONNY WON. I FIRST WAS NOT FOR HIM BECAUSE HE HAS ALWAY BEEN A PERFORMER. THE ROUTINE THAT HE DID MONDAY NIGHT WAS AWESOME AND FROM THE FIRST SHOW TILL THE LAST SHOW HE HAD INPROVED SO MUCH. FOR SOMEONE AT HIS AGE THAT WAS ABLE TO OUT DANCE THE YOUNGER DANCERS WAS GREAT. CONGRATS
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:56 am
Enough people. Can’t you just be happy for Donny and move on. He won based on his last dances and they were fabulous. He worked very hard, as did the others and received the ultimate prize for his efforts. Yes, Mya was very good, but she lacked in certain areas. Kelly had improved tremendously and her facial expressions alonde should have won her 2nd place. For those who criticize spelling, don’t you have anything better to do… get a life for crying out loud… get a life!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:02 am
I watched the whole season and I was really hoping for Kelly. She has grown so much as a person and a dancer dring the show. Donny has excellent stage presence and can really work a crowd! Mya was never an option for me, remember she danced professionally and even did choreograpy. Now why should she win a competition that shows dance progress between amaters?
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:10 am
This is not a dance competition its a popularity contest. There were at least 5 dancers better that Osmond. He should have been eliminated by round 6. I will not bother to watch this rigged show again unless the judges are the sole arbiters of who goes and who wins.
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:10 am
If this was just about dancing, Mya should have won. Donny was very good too and Kelly was a fan favorite. I would have been happy with any of them winning. Unfortunately, there can only be one winner
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:12 am
Mya clearly was the best dancer. Some felt her earlier dance training gave her an unfair advantage…some also felt Donny’s background as a “song and dance” man gave him an unfair edge. Didn’t matter. Donny’s rabidly loyal fan base came through for him and Mya and Kelly split the younger demographic. I thought Kelly and Mya were very gracious in losing out on the tacky trophy and Kelly was especially endearing…what a transformation!
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:13 am
Very, very disappointing. Although throughout the shows one could tell that Donny was going to win because of how the Judges reacted to him. Sorry, but I feel now too that this show is rigged. They need to change the voting procedures…….the Judges keep saying week after week that it is about the dancing??????
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:21 am
Do you NOT listen???? The Judge’s choice was Mya. The fans got to vote on Monday night. They added the Judge’s and the fan’s choices together……….That’s how Donny won. Jane M. got it right…..What’s wrong with you people?
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:25 am
I agree completely with Ann. I am an owner/choreographer of a dance studio. I have never ball room danced in my life, but I assure you I would pick it up quicker than someone who had never done any structured dancing. I was in hopes of Kelly winning, as I felt she showed the most improvement of the show. I had high hopes that all contestants not have any dance experience and to see which ones can be transformed into dancers by the end. I am always drawm to the ones that start out shaky and by the end have shown the most improvement. Different people vote for different reasons though, but thats not in ABC’s hand, its in America’s. I will continue watching the show and continue voting for ugly ducklings turned into the swans, because I think thats what the show was meant to be about. Congratulations to Donnie, show/entertaining/dance training, its a lot of time and hard work to get to where they were! Its really kind of senseless to get that upset over a tv show, eh? Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:29 am
Kelly was the delight of this season! Third place was probably correct in the final; however, week to week she brought the most excitement to the floor. An amazing young lady! Congratulations!
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:33 am
True, the public has the last vote. So you count his huge family, and their friends and a few of the public. There is no way Donny out danced Mya. Its not suppose to be a popularity show, its best dancer. And you can see Lem wanted him to win. I for one and a few family members will not watch this show anymore. Its not about dancing, its about popularity. The same with amer.idol. Its all in popularity
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:33 am
Mya does dancing for living, but Donny did a lot and proved a lot. I’m actually very glad she did not win because she sound like she was the winner already in her mind…… Donny deserved it. I’m so happpppppppppyyyyyyyyy
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:55 am
First of all, I would like to say that Mya does not dance for a living. She is an entertainer just like Kelly and Donnie…she hadn’t had an album out since the early 2000s so she has just as much right to be on the show than anyone else. Everyone says that she had an unfair advantage, but it isn’t her fault that God blessed her with the gift of dance. The show is based on popularity and not about the dancing. I think its sad that the stars slave learning new dancings from week to week only to be voted off because not enough fans like them. Where is the justice in that? If that’s the case, then I think that they shouldn’t dance; but rather stand in a straight line and see who has the highest fan base! We all know that the real winner is Mya and Dmitry just based on the fact that she has the most skill. She was the only one who scored multiple perfect scores thoroughout the season and the most 10s out of everyone. But ironically enough, its not abut how well you dance. This show has completely lost its whole concept and I, as many diehard DWTS fans, will NOT tune in next season.
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:59 am
well, maybe if Mya did not act so much as a winner before the final score, she would get more votes. people love Donny and that’s why he won……… I’m still so happpppppyyyyyyyyy
on November 25th, 2009 at 11:02 am
I am very disappointed. Mya, clearly should have won! This is the 2nd year in a row that the person that should have won didnt. 1st Mel B was cheated, now they cheat Mya! It is clearly a popularity show now and I do not believe I will watch it next season!
on November 25th, 2009 at 11:03 am
The show is about who can dance, not a popularity contest. Both Mya and Joanna were robbed. Used to be one of my favorite programs to watch, not any more!

How can they give Donny the trophy??? Maya was the best of the group. This show has turned into a circus!
on November 25th, 2009 at 11:25 am
Each week on this show is a contest to get to the next week. So what you did last week is the past and what you do this week is what counts this week. Donny was the best on Monday and last night - he won because of that and the fan votes. And I agree I voted. Each season people complain becasue their star did not win, you have to vote if you do not vote, you only have yourself to blame. I thought either Kelly or Donny deserved it, they worked the hardest and did not just shake their rear end.
on November 25th, 2009 at 11:32 am
All these negative comments. This is one of the few reality shows that is for the most part family friendly. Everyone has an opinion and if all of you on here that have decided that Mya should have one did you all vote? The show also has to do with personality’s and Mya was to stuck on herself to offer alot of personality.

What a joke!, I have been watching dancing with the stars for the first time with my mother this season. I watched the last 8 weeks. I am a cuban american female and I danced all of my life at parties. In our cuban community we dance all the time this is part of the culture. We learn from watching our parents and friends. We don’t have to go to dance lessons. Salsa, Rumba etc are cuban creations which were exported to Puerto Rico and other places. My mother, a cuban friend that teaches latin dance in Miami and I were amazed to see how Mya and Dimitri danced. They were the only couple that seemed to have it all. After all they were the only ones that were complimented by the judges most of the time in the last week. I have read : “Mya is a dancer” blah blah. I am cuban, and I never seen anyone that is not latin danced Salsa and Samba so well. That guy Donny Osmond is a good learner and has been performing since he was very young. When he danced , He was reciting what he learned. He should have been in second place. There are lots of good learners but not many people dance with all of the details necessary to perform well. When I first saw Mya I thought she was latin, because she has these great natural moves that are not easily thought or learned unless you are a natural born dancer. Sorry she is not in the same league as any of the other dancers, not even close. Dimitri was excellent, Why having people who have no clue about dancing calling about dancing skills. Is everything in America about business and viewers ratings. Give me a break, I am so disappointed. Unbelievably Wrong. Mya and Dimitri were so Wronged!. I will not watched that show anymore. No lo puedo Creer!.

what do you know preciousbubs, you can’t even spell! Mya was the better dancer, everyone knows it. Anybody can cheer for a winner.

I would like to remind all the previous critics of DWTS that the “concept” has not changed since it began. Judges scores count for 50%, fans calling in count for 50%. If anyone ever thought that this was just about who the best dancer was, they need their head examined. Da! ABC would never have involved the fans (who know nothing of dance technique) if that were the case. Although many of the stars and dancers work very hard on the show, this is really just “light” entertainment for the audience. And it is very entertainining! Hasn’t anyone been watching all the extra comedy skits and dances the earlier losers have been doing? So your favorite didn’t win, big deal, grow up! You critics sound like a bunch of whinning second graders. Take a clue from your “stars”, and lose with class. If anything, this show and it’s stars have been trying to impart that attitude on YOU, the audience. All the other “stars” have lost graciously, from the first eliminated to those who lost in the final.

First of all let me clarify something, Mya is a TAP dancer, just like Donny was a group dancer with his brothers who are known asthe Osmond Brothers. The only finalist who had no dance experience was Kelly and it showed. This season of So YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE HAD 3 TAP DANCERS WHO WAS VOTED OFF BY THE JUDGES because it is dfficult to go from tap dancing [moving your feet a million times a second] to ball room dancing, the waltz and the samba. Even dancers that had different dance training on so you think you can dance could not pull off the moves MYA did. Mya pulled all these dances off because she worked hard and she is a talented dancer. No, mya does not dance for a living she sings for a living. Mya did alot of her tap dancing when she was younger. Yes, she did show confidence in herself by professing the trophy was all hers. So did Donny and Kelly. However, I am proud that she showed confidence nd came out of her shell. Anyone who knows the R&B singer, knows that she is very sweet, and very very shy. She always seem a little stand offish because of her shyness. But if you could read her mind you would know how sweet she is and just like Kelly she has her own things she would like to overcome. Kelly is just a little more open and vocal about her vuneralbilities than MYA. Now for the uplifting Donnie Osmond.
on November 25th, 2009 at 12:48 pm
I really enjoyed watching Donny Osmond. Although he wasn’t as good as Mya. If you consider his age he was just as good. Donny if I am not mistaken, is 51 years old and he will be 52 in December of this year. Anyone with eyes and a heart can tell he is a sweet person. Although I am only 28 years old, I am so proud of Donny. Although I was rooting for Mya, I believe he deserved to win based on his age alone. Anyone who says Donny was just standing around is blind. The man can really move his hips. You must have him confused with Kelly Osborne. No one expects this dancers to dance like professionals, however if they do that is good. Congratulations, Donny you worked hard just like all the other dancers. GREAT JOB AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I FEEL THAT MYA AND DMITRY WERE ROBBED OF THE TROPHY. I WILL NOT WATCH THIS PROGRAM AGAIN, THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE HOW WELL YOU DANCE AND NOT HOW OLD YOU ARE AND HOW POPULAR YOU ARE. SESSIONS BEFORE THE “BEST DANCERS” DID NOT WIN! THIS IS SOOO RIGGED. MYA AND DMITRY YOU ARE STILL MY WINNER. DONNY ONLY DID ONE DANCE WELL AND WAS IN THE BOTTOM SEVERAL TIMES. SO NOT RIGHT. DWTS WILL NOT HAVE MY VOTES OR WATCH THE PROGRAM.

Did some of you not watch the free-style? That is why Donny won. Mya went with Dimitri’s ‘conservative’ approach in the free-style…just with intent to win and not SHOW all your talent. Donny and his partner went all-out in free-style and the ‘old man’ lifted and spun his partner and gave it his all and showed just how much he was willing to risk, how far he had advanced/progressed…and he pulled it off big time! That’s why the 30 points. In a sprint, it’s the ‘kicker’ at the end that often pulls off the upset.
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:14 pm
Kelly oh Kelly, your smile alone stole my heart. I can tell she has low self-eteem. Kelly, I am proud of you. You definitely have grown over the weeks. However, it was not your dancing that drew me. It was your struggles, your victories and your dedication to prove to yourself that you can do anything. I notice you kept pointing out what Mya and Donny can do. Oh well, who cares like Joy Behar says. Don’t focus on everyone else qualities, focus on your own. I believe if she does this, she will realize she has a lot of qualities of her own. Starting with that beautiful smile. When people say winning is not everything. That is true. Although it feels good to win. However, I would like to say that winning depends on what you want to win. Plus never ever tell yourself you want to win based on people voting for you because you believe that means most people like you. If you base it on that and you lose, you will feel like you are a loser when you are not. Kelly you are a winner, you had fun and you entertain the viewers and that is what dancing with the stars is all about!
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:14 pm
i already knew he was going to win because everybody knows him!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:16 pm
This offically marks the end of dancing with the stars, I feel viewership will drop next season, this show is a complete joke. Donny didn’t even deserve to be in the top three. He’s about as deserving of the Trophy Ball as Sara Palin is of being President of The United States.
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:23 pm
I loved Donnie and I loved Mya and I loved Kelly. By far, Mya was technically the best dancer, but Donnie has always been a great entertainer, and I think that gave him the edge. However, it seems that African American women are always labeled as having an attitude, being arrogant, etc…I never heard one thing that she said or one thing that she did that made her appear to think she had it in the bag. If you have followed her career she has always been kind of shy and sweet. That is just the racism coming out - the black woman is always portrayed negatively and the white woman is always so sweet.
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Lets be reminded that its the fans that vote! I think the show is amazing i will watch again! Donny congrats u worked hard and dedicated to make your mistakes a pleasure to watch the next time! Mya was unbelievable and Kelly was a star!! I love to watch her dance!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:30 pm
This was a great show. Lots of great dancing, good entertainment! I thought Mya did a fantastic job. Kelly won my heart. Donny worked so hard and pulled it off. Congratulations to all of them for the joy and fun they brought into our home each Monday. I’ll miss the competition. It is amazing to see how much it means to these stars. They really have to want it to work so hard and have the dances all look so good.
I feel like Mya had a head start, she obviously can dance. But I do feel like she lost it with her free style. Donny on the other hand wowed us.
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
I don’t think he did a good enough job to win. Mia had better scores and worked harder and had 3 scores of 10’s and should have won. Just because he was an entertainer and better known he woo… the audience and the Judges. He should have never made it to the finals with all the mistakes he made dancing. I will not watch the show next season because it is not fair that people work so hard with the scores and the talent and the people calling in then the Judges turn around and give it to someone else they feel they like. Judges on the show should not take president but the the public should make the final decision.
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
Mya Is Still A WINNER IN MY HEART AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE WINNER~~~ I WILL NOT WATCH BECAUSE THE SHOW IS BIAS!!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:50 pm
Come on People, that is a Joke Doony won, he did not perform up to Kelly and Myr. He was stiff as a board. He we go again the old man judge gave him the high score. I just do not think he should have won and will write a letter to organization and will never watch the show again. Give to the girls who really worked for.
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:51 pm
First and foremost I think everyone needs to seriously chill out and think about what the show is really about, it is 1/2 dance technique and 1/2 fan based popularity. Throughout the competition all three of the finalists have improved there technique from week 1, no question. So based on that alone, I think they all deserved to be finalists regardless of prior training. Congratulations to Mya and Kelly for being finalists and congratulations to Donny for bringing home the trophy.
on November 25th, 2009 at 1:59 pm
Mya is (without any doubt) the most talented dancer this year (2009) and, hands down, should have won the dance contest. But I want to focus on the judges scores in the semi finals and finals. It seems to me that the judges expected Mya to walk (dance) on water while it was acceptable for others to walk (dance) on fortified concrete and receive equal or greater scores. Let’s take the semi finals for example…I agree that Mya’s freestyle was medeorcle (by what we expected of her…to walk on water). Comparatively, Donnie’s freestyle was great for walking on fortified concrete. Still her’s was the better dance but she received lower scores because in this dance she only walked on jello and not water. As for the final dance Mya’s dance deserved the 30 and Donnie’s should have received the 28. So I’m placing much of the outcome on the judges. And yes, I know the puplic didn’t have the opportunity to vote on the very last dance. I truly believe the judges were most unfare to Mya, especially in the last two dances where those scores are most fresh in viewer’s minds. As you can tell, I am truly disappointed in the outcome. The other dancers were very good….but Mya was GREAT!!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:04 pm
Mya had the best technique the entire season (although Mark was also quite good). However during the freestyle portion of the competition, Donny’s routine was better. His pro, Kym, gave him a routine that played up his performance strengths and the results paid off. We all have Mya’s pro, Dmitry, to blame for giving her bad choreography even though she wanted to do something completely different. Kelly was a trooper for sticking it out, even though she clearly didn’t have all that much confidence in herself. I hope she sticks with dancing because she looks fabulous and would very likely love the social dance scene in both the US and UK, where she’d be treated like a rock star.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
Donny has what Mya lacks as a performer. But, Mya is great. Donny is just better. She did poorly during the finale free style and that cost it for her. She didn’t connect as well as Donny. I’m happy for him! Yea!
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:28 pm
The main reason that Mya lost was her attitude..she KNEW she was the best..and gave off an air..and that turned alot of peoples’ votes against her. You know what I mean..like noone was a good as her..well……………I personally wish Kelly could have won..what a cutie she was thru the whole season.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:33 pm
Who really cares. This is not entertainment, it’s pure garbage.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:35 pm
I was somewhat disappointed with the outcome of this show. I wasn’t surprise with the outcome. It’s clear that donnie had much more investment in this show. He’s been marketing this show since the beginning of the season . I didn’t like his showmanship at the end.He was so hung up on himself that he didn’t even acknowledge his competitors. It was clear that he didn’t dance as well in the last several episodes. I grew up with the Osmonds, is this a way to get your name back in the spotlight. If so, you’ve just lost a fan.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:46 pm
I am over 80 years old and watch DWTS every season. I was very disappointed this 9th season as it seems the fans are making the final decision, not on who dances best. Next year, try letting the judges have comlete say-so in grading and judging (no fans call in). That is what the judges are there for. I, too, think Mya should have won–she just didn’t have the fan base that the other 2 did. My personal opinion? Derek and Joanna should have been No.2. Derek is so talented, does amazing choreography and also brings out the best in his partner. He is delightful to watch.
Alas, Joanna didn’t have the large fan base. I may, or may not, watch next season. I’m very disappointed in what should be a good show.
on November 25th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
Joan, please explain what you mean by “attitude” when you talk about Mya. Here we go again; another comment against a Black woman who has never been known to be anything but kind and sweet. It’s just not right. I bet you cannot even specifically describe anything that she did. She’s just a Black woman. Michelle Obama tends to get the same kind of criticism. I know I get it and everyone that truly knows me thinks it’s unfounded.
on November 25th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
Gawd, I can relate to most of the comments, because there have been seasons, where, I thought the fans kept in contestant that weren’t worthy. At the beginning of each season, I’ve had my favorites and then have changed because I was endured to another’s personality, good nature and true improvement, eg; Emmitt, Apolo, Helio and Ty
What I love about this show, is that it is a “feel good” show, everyone is supportive of everyone, you watch partipants grow (for the better), people with different life-styles embrace the elegance, grace and professionalism of ballroom dancing and every emotion shown in the blog proves it. We are all passionate about the show, good or bad. Don’t give up!
on November 25th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
America has spoken people. Bottom line, Mya’s free style dance really was a disappointment. Donny was a great performer and a pleasure to watch.
on November 25th, 2009 at 3:12 pm
Well this was definitely a hard pick for me. I also believed Mya was the better dance but as mentioned by someone above Donny grew on me the last couple shows. Mya is an excellent dancer and I got kinda of bored with her because she was excellent from the beginning. She set the standard and obviously everyone were trying to catch up with her. If this was strictly based on points and how well you can dance than of course she deserved the title. However, you saw the progress of the others and Donny’s dance was just more polished than Kelly and that is why he won. Of course aside from popularity votes. I think he gained more fans toward the end because he showed so mush improvement. This show cannot be based on points only because that would be too predicatable. Who would tune in to the very last show if it was soley based on points. That is the whole mystery of it all. They wanted all this controversy. Most of us will be back watching it next season again regardless of what just happened especially if they have another outstanding line-up. I’m proud of them all. Happy Thanksgiving you all!!! God bless!
on November 25th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
It was an easy decision…Mya won hands down but was not given the trophy. The viewer voted for her week after week keeping her in first place all along. In the final, the public did not have a chance to vote. So what are you talking about popularity votes doing it for Donny….it was the judges who handed him the win. The comparison of dancing on water etc. by a prev writer explains it perfectly. It was rigged right down the middle and I wasted a whole season watching it…bye bye DWTS.

Mya & Demitri were Robbed- reaLLY THE SHOW IS a fix!
on November 25th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
I am happy for Kym J. She has had some real dud partners in the past and deserves the win. I thought Louie did not get enough recognition for his outstanding work with Kelly. “Most Improved” ..Kelly!!! “Best Dancer” … Mya!!! “Most Overrated” … Donny!!! Who should have won…MYA!!

Chantal are you really serious????? Do you know what Donny does for a living???? 3-4 Vagas dance and song shows with Marie in Vagas!!!! Daily!!!! He should not have been there at all. This show was a crock of S**T. Should be called Danicing Stars Dancing with the Stars!! Bye bye show will not watch you again.

Mya should have won this dance NOT POPULARITY competition. Despite the continuous criticism from that old geezer of a judge, Mya kept her composure. While doing this she grew beyond belief and was obviously the best dancer If the show is going to be judged by popularity, let’s admit to it. This is my last season of watching. It is quite insulting to my intelligence.
on November 25th, 2009 at 6:34 pm
I honestly think Donny knew Mya should’ve wrong but this brat cried through out the show. His sister Marie works for ABC(ET) which I think is a conflict of interest but hey if you interviewing your brother various of times on ET of course he’s going to win but it’s too late for me I will not watch this rigged show again.
So you Donnie fan keep telling yourself the he won because he labeled Mya as a professional dancer when he has been dancing and performing before Mya was born including his show in Vegas. It’s obvious he fan bases not elite enough to know they have been played with sympathy.
on November 25th, 2009 at 7:05 pm
I didnt NOT mean attitude in an ethnic way..geeeeeeee..dont be so defensive..lol..I just mean the way she batted her eye lashes and all..she ASSUMMED that she had it in a bag..Im just saying because of the attitude,, I am sure many didnt vote for her..sometimes being HUMBLE is better than giving off an attitude !!!!Ill agree Mya was an excellent dancer………….
on November 25th, 2009 at 8:39 pm
Mya and her partner were definitely rob of the trophy, the same as Mel B. was. We the public do not know how ABC count the public votes. The show can be rigged to produce the outcome that the show wants, not the outcome of the true winner. Donny was a favorite and I do believe Mya won, but the show decided to go with Donny since Marie did not win. Mya is a winner to all of us that know she was done wrong. She did not show an attitude, she was humble like everyone else.
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
Unbelievable!! I logged on to see who won because I didn’t have an opportunity to watch.
When did DWTS finals become a racial issue? Aw, poor Mel B? Or better yet, way to go Macy Gray! Way to represent your women of color. You people take every chance you get to cry and whine racism when things don’t go the way you want. Things have changed in our world, why don’t you try it? We have a black President in America, so I know most of you are able to vote. Didn’t you vote for your Maya?? She was good but DID NOT WIN. Suck it up. It’s a reality show. Rigged or not, who cares. You watch because it’s entertaining. If you decide not to watch any more, NOBODY CARES. There will be another 10 people that tune in to take your place. I am thrilled that Donny won. I would have also liked to see Kelly win it. I’m glad Mya was put in her place and ended up 2nd. I can’t wait for next season!!
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
SHOOT! I SHOULD HAVE WON! Hehe. But on the real I thought Mya was going to win too, but Im not a hater so GO Donny!
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
Mya should have won. I voted for Mya on line as well as on my cell phone via text. I tried to vote for her via phone line but her number was constantly busy. I could see America voting for Donny over Mya even if they felt Mya was better. Disgusted in CT, using a phrase like “you people” let me know right away that you are a bigot racist. Having a black President of the United States has done nothing positive for racism in America. President Obama receives 30 death threats per day which is a 400% increase over President Bush. I would bet that most of these threats are coming from people like you that are probably white men wanting their country back. Not saying that Donny winning was all driven by race but I bet a part of it was. Racism exists in America. If you would be honest with yourself I bet you could look in a mirror and see racism looking back at you. I sense the hatred in your heart.
on November 25th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
I’m so glad that I did not waste my time watching the show after last season. Anyone paying attention could tell two things: One, that is was not coincidental that Donny Osmond spent over half of his Entertainment Tonight (ET) corrospondance time on the set of DWTS; he subliminally made potential fans associate him with the show then (LOL). Second, you could tell that he was dying to get selected to compete on the show by how over the top excited he was while covering DWTS for ET. I didn’t bother to watch this season, because when it was announced that he would be a competitor, I already knew that he was going to win. He’s a very good, and hardworking entertainer. With his “pre-season” exposure as an ET DWTS corrospondant and his “spot light” on ET day in and out, he already set himself up as the winner… So, he got what he deserved , he wheeled, dealed and apprently it paid off - that’s what hard work does for you, cus let’s face it folks…. life ain’t fair and there is always more than one way to skin a cat - don’t skin cats! (sorry, Lori, for the grammer

“Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” –M. L. King
So right. Racism is only for sincere ignorant and conscientiously stupid people. How many of you fall in that category?
Mr. CT above is right about one thing, winning a reality show is nothing compared to winning the highest office in the free world - President of the United States of America. I am sure that black people would gladly take the POTUS on DWTS and all the other silly reality shows.
on November 25th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
I grew up listening and watching Donnie and Marie. They are both very talented. I’m glad Donnie won, he worked hard for it. Mya was to much into her self. Way to go Donnie.

congrats to donny it was well deserved!
on November 26th, 2009 at 12:11 am
I voted for Mya with all five of my votes on Monday night. I thought she was consistently the best dancer over the course of the show and am disappointed that she didn’t win.
Still, I’m not surprised. Donny and Kym outdid Mya and Dmitri in the freestyle on Monday and in Tuesday’s final dance and some people may have voted based on those things rather than the whole season. The fact that Donny finished fourth out of four the week before and still made it (when the more deserving Joanna and Derek did not) shows that he has a large fan base.
This is the third series of the show that I’ve watched and the second in a row where I feel the best dancer did not win. Brooke Burke was deserving a year ago. Last time, however, even though I liked Melissa Rycroft, it was pretty evident that Gilles Marini was the best - and he still lost to Shawn Johnson.
So, it’s happened before and it will probably happen again.
on November 26th, 2009 at 5:29 am
CT,
“You people, Put her in her place? These are biased if not racist terms. Yes we have a black president and am proud that enlightenment and intelligence played a role in last the 2008 election. The most qualified person for the job won the election. CT, did you vote for Mr. Obama? I’m an educated, black American of immigrant descent, married to a white, educated, republican who voted for Mr. Obama in 2008 because of “people like you”. So you see CT there is not one iota of racism in my blood. CT take a look in the mirror, search your heart, read some books, travel, get enlightened, and you will discover that statements like “you people, and putting someone in their place are unacceptable and spell ignorance which breeds bigotry.
Mya should have won,and this has nothing to do with race. Just as Mario Lopez should have won in whatever season he danced. We are looking for the best dancer, not the most popular. The judges votes should carry a higher percentage; perhaps 75:25.
on November 26th, 2009 at 9:57 am
Reasons Donnie won
1. Men watch sports
2. Women vote ( for men )
3. Superglue- ( Donnie’s fan base were women between the age of 50-60.) Their fingers were glued to “vote for Donnie’s 1-800 number.
4. Mya not asked to sing.
5. Marie brought in Monday night to help seal the deal.
6. Donnie actually had a little hip movement while dancing the cha-cha. Note: At this point, the “puppy lover’s began to experience mild hot flashes.
7. Donnie sang Puppy Love.
8. Pupper Lovers lost consciousness during Donnie’s performance of Puppy Love, glue held tight and thankfully no one was injured.
9. Fans hormones prevailed over logical thinking
Reason Mya lost
1. Donnie was a contestant
2. Number of camera shots of Marie and or Donnie’s family (cannot be calculated)
3. Number of camera shots of Mya’s family. (don’t know but only a few.)
4. Not enough ten scores to prevail over Donnie’s eights
5. Mya too good, became a threat to the puppy lovers
6. Mya became equal with Christi Yamaguchi, but even Christi would not have been able to overcome the glue.
Judges
After Donnie’s performance of Puppy Love, judges were presented with a few agonizing questions.
A. Will Donnie’s singing performance drive him to the top?
B. Should we take a chance that it will and score him on his dancing ability only?
C. Should we give him tens in case it doesn’t?
D. Will a riot breakout if he loses
They chose C, but perhaps we shouldn’t judge them as they may have seen a vision of angry puppy lovers all bearing ” Donnie for president” posters, the kind with sharp metal rods that stick in the ground. ( ouch )
P.S. I have heard from a very reliable source that Brad Pitt will be on next season. I also have information that he is quite the dancer and could win on ability alone. But just in case ladies, make sure you stock up on the superglue.

Donny totally deserved to win. He did great in his last two final dances, while Maya didn’t do as great. Like school, Maya did great on the assignments and the unit exams, but on the final exams which counted 100% of the votes/judges scores, Donny stole the show. Maya is an amazing dancer and I would not be suprised if she won; however, Donny is a great champion. So, to those our grapes or sour lemons, make some lemonade! Go Donny go!

I am with the overwhelming majority who think that Mya should have won and was robbed. As for those few who think that Donny’s final Argentine Tango was better than Mya’s jive, don’t understand ballroom dancing and should take some lessons. All Donny did was place his feet here and there and did not do any of the intricate and delicate leg flicks - but just ley Kym do all the work. On the other hand Mya’s jive was fast and fabulous - and as the judges pointed out she did not miss a beat. As for personality, Mya has been so sweet, charming - graceful and elegant when needed, and sexy and sassy when needed - as the Judges all pointed out. As for Donny - what was that make-out session with Bruno all about? That was so crude and tasteless. The whole world knows that Mya is the champion - and I think the best dancer on the show so far!!!

I a from the CARIBBEAN, and I have been watching the show. It is hard to see that Donnie won being that he can not dance that well. It is very sad to see that he only won due to his long business in entertainment. Mya should of won. Something is not right here. In the back of my mind, I would go with the fact that the show was rigged that is the only way that I can see this man winning DWTS. The competition shoul of been in the Caribbean, we would of chosen the right winner, that is MYA. Tell me something America, DO YOU ALL VOTE ON POPULARITY OR SKILLS? Cause it looks to me that the answer is POPULARITY. I would not bother to watch this SH*T OF A SHOW AGAIN.
on November 26th, 2009 at 11:21 am
After Joanna Krupa was booted off the show instead of Donny or Kelly, I lost confidence that the voting is not rigged. Mya or Joanna should have won and I will not be watching the show in the future.
on November 26th, 2009 at 12:03 pm
Mya deserved the win. She is the better dancer and alot less obnoxious than Donny. Two great reasons she should have won.
on November 26th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
Mya deserved to win. She was the better dancer and the most consistent.Donny didn’t dance he posed. Mya put her heart and soul in each dance and it showed. This show is rigged for sure. I am disgusted with it.
on November 26th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Donny was/is simply the more likeable contestant…And he was an underdog to win. People often times go for the underdog. I found the show highly entertaining.
on November 26th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
I too think the show is rigged. I have been a fan for the past 5-6 years, but no more. Mya should have won and I agree that Donny did a lot of “posing” on the show. He has been an entertainer all his life and knows how to work a room, not to mention his fan base. I also did not think it was necessary to have the Monday night shows 2 hours in length. We don’t need to rehash the week before and go through their rehersal schedule, etc. I also felt the final show was also too long. Who cares about Miss Piggy and all the other dancers who were voted off? Make it one hour in duration and let’s cut to the chase. I doubt I will watch DWTS next year for two reasons, (1) it was a rigged finale and (2) the show has become far too long.
on November 26th, 2009 at 4:11 pm
I too think the show is rigged. How Donny could have won over Mya is unbelievable.
Donny is an entertainer and has been all his life. He knows how to work a room Vegas style. I felt he “posed” quite a bit throughout the season. He certainly was NOT the dancer Mya was. I also do not feel that Mya had an attitude! Kelly, I loved – who could not love that gal with her wonderful smile and personality!
I felt the season’s show was far too long on Monday nights (2 hours, come on!) and on the final night it also did not need to be 2 hours. We could have done without Miss Piggy and all the other dancers who had been voted off this season and previous seasons. One hour would have been sufficient – we were interested in who was going to be the winner, not all the other “fillers”.
I doubt I will watch DWTS next year as (1) I feel it is rigged and (2) 2 hour shows are far too long, even though I have been watching the show for 6 years now.

come on mya dances for a living she was obviously going to be good Donny had to overcome a lot to stay in the running. so to all you youngster it is not always all about you.
on November 26th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
This show is a joke!! Last season, Gilles gets robbed, now Mya. I feel Donnie won for several bad reasons. One, Len is an old fart, and he was unfair to Mya for the first half of the season. Second, it is totally unfair to all the other contestants that ET is pushing for Donnie to win every night. They did the same with Marie when she was on, but this time, they had no shame in their game. Also, I tried to vote for Mya, and the line stayed busy. It is stupid that they do not give you but 30 past the end of the show. What is wrong with 2 hours like American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance. I have been a fan of DWTS for years, but I am totally disgusted and have no plans to watch this farce of a show!!!!
on November 27th, 2009 at 12:07 am
If DWTS is based on popularity, then there is no need for judges. Just let the people decide. I was very upset when Mya didn’t win but when I thought about it I realized that they were not going to let her win. Yeah she was the better dancer, hands down, but Donnie has the fans who have grown up with him and his famous family. I don’t like that it’s that way, but S! happens. However, I will not watch DWTS again. For me the show made the statement that even though you may work hard to develop your craft (regardless of what it may be), the popular (less qualified) person wins in the end. What a shame!!!
on November 27th, 2009 at 12:38 am
Mya was the true winner, DWTS cheated her and the show should be canceled.
on November 27th, 2009 at 7:51 am
The result was very disappointing! Mya should be the winner. I will not watch this show again.
on November 27th, 2009 at 7:53 am
I’m not happy with the result. Mya won, not Donny!!!!!
on November 27th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
I have no respect what-so-ever for the so-called Judges. They should all have ‘two” fingers stuck up their BLIND bigoted ASSES. They wanted Donny to win and low and behold he won. I say we protest this farce. I’am outraged. Mya was the best, better than joanna too- that’s why she was intimidated by her too, but she should have been in the finals. Donny kept bitchin like a little B, crying and trying to play on the public about his sister
Marie would never let him live it down if he lost. Bull-crap! she lost herself. I used to like the Osmonds, somewhat, now screw all of them. Donny you’re a loser. I will never watch DWS again. and I’am going to let myself be heard until it reaches his ass and the Judges. Let’s protest like the past contestant host on “Family Feud.” did. Hey he felt he was robbed and got his trophy ultimately. whatayah say?
on November 28th, 2009 at 11:27 pm
Mia won. Donnie was so stiff and boring. Everyone thinks that the viewers vote counts for half the score. Has anyone seen the votes from the viewers, I’ve often wonder who got how many votes. Why don’t they give the score every week when they send someone home. The only reason they say for us to vote is to get us to watch the show and their ratings will go up. But where does our votes go.They should hire judges from a professional organization and let them be the only judge. The three judges that are there now does not know how to judge dancers. Carrie Ann suck up to Donnie so much since the begining of the season that it was pathetic. Lynn Goodman had an attitude toward Mia the whole season. This is the last season that I will watch this show. MIA, God luck in the future. (P.S.) Donnie has for brothers if ABC wants to keep them in the familey.
on November 29th, 2009 at 3:21 am
The show is definately rigged. Remember last season that short legged, chunky athlete won. It was a joke. Her legs were way too muscular to do half the moves but she was a fav of god knows who and she won. That’s when I knew it was rigged. So Donny won this year, yes he could still carry a conversation after a step or two - that doesn’t make him a winner. Shame shame shame.
on November 30th, 2009 at 8:00 pm
I can’t believe that none of you didn’t even give Kelly props! She really grew throughout this whole process and I think that she should get some props from this, she’s a much better dancer now than in the beginning and I think that she should have won if that’s how it was judged. She is the daughter of a very powerful man that has taught us all not to judge a book by it’s cover and I think that we should all commend her for her power and will to overcome all of the things that she has encountered in her life! I love you Kelly!!!!!
on November 30th, 2009 at 9:13 pm
Will never ever watch again; Maya was robbed!
on December 1st, 2009 at 6:59 pm
i totally disagree with what happened.maya should be the winner.this is absolutely bogus.the show will definitely lose ratings.i will never look this show again.i cant believe this.dmitry was a great instructor and i believe that they were cheated.
on December 1st, 2009 at 7:33 pm
Personally, I was pulling for Kelly. After that I would have picked Donnie and then Mya. Just my opinion though.
on December 2nd, 2009 at 8:50 am
We are told the votes called in is what is making the winners. I do not believe this. It is what gives the show a good rating and conflicts make for good rating. I only watched a few of the shows this time because it has been unfair for a long time. Brooke should have won and she did, Helio was good and even Emmitt but no way did Shawn Johnson beat Gilles Marini and Kelly Osborne was a lot better than Donny and Mya was a little better than her yet Donny won. I know Donny have a lot of relatives and fan but so does Mya and I know everyone in my family which is 3 times bigger than Donny voted and yet Donny won.
We all need to stop saying we are never going to watch the show again and next season we are in front of the TV. WE NEED TO SAY WE WILL NOT WATCH THE SHOW AGAIN AND MEAN IT. Since the Shawn Johnson Gilles Marini season I have tuned it off. THIS SHOW LIKE SO MANY OTHERS IS RIGGED, RIGGED, RIGGED.

Mya had it all the way, Donny only won because of the past show with Marie. And total props to Kelly she did a fantastic turn around.
on December 15th, 2009 at 12:45 am
Donny won, blah blah blah.
Mya was better, blah blah blah.
The REAL charmer on the floor, and of the season was KELLY!

Why does everything have to be about race? I’ve seen white contestants voted off American Idol when they were better than the black contestants. I’ve seen black contestants voted off when they were better than the white contestants. THE KEY WORD HERE FOLKS IS “VOTED”.
on December 26th, 2009 at 12:26 am
I watched each episode, and when I started to read online that fans had a problem with Maya because she “appeared cold” to Dmitry. I knew they would FIND a reason not to vote for her. Maya should of won, and I think that America still has racist views. Maya’s charisma was displayed consistently in the show. If there was tension between Dmitry and Maya there could be underlying reasons that we don’t know about and she still performed! Double standards. Brooke and Derrick also had tension, but America voted for Brooke to win.
on December 26th, 2009 at 12:31 am
Elaine,
Everything doesn’t have to be about race and one day when white people realize that: double standards will be removed and all will be treated more equally. Year 2050?
