VIDEO! UPDATE #1 - Here again is youtube video of Thierry Henry’s DOUBLE Handball that has prompted Ireland and Sweden to speak out against Thierry Henry and Martin Hansson. Thierry Henry’s youtube video depicts a handball during the France vs. Ireland FIFA World Cup qualifying match. Now Ireland is fuming that there was not just one handball but a double handball and double offsides.

On Wednesday, LALATE provided you live coverage of the playoff game France vs. Ireland in which Thierry Henry was depicted with handball violation.
The only problem - Swedish referee Martin Hansson didn’t call it. He didn’t call either of the double handballs or the double offsides. Now soccer fans, Ireland, and even Sweden is furious at Henry, FIFA, and Hansson.
Irish Justice Minister Dermont Ahern issued a statement today to AP that three was a 1) double handball and 2) double offsides.
“If that result remains it reinforces the view that if you cheat you will win. Millions of people worldwide saw it was a blatant double handball not to mention a double offside. We should put the powers that be in the cozy world of FIFA on the spot and demand a replay.”

Point is…lead up to the goal there was off-side and handball! The ref from kick-off was rooting for the french! The lines man began to lift his flag for the handball and changed his mind! (look closely)! The World cup have more to gain with france in than they do with Ireland! Sad day for football! The person under attack should be ref! Although…henry could have owned up to it before it was given to them! I dont think Keane wud have done? the same if it was that blatent!!!!
I know how you will be feeling right now but hey i could be worse ! Hate to see cheating in our great game ! Strange thing is if this was a golf course or maybe athletics , he most likely not be allowed to play again !!!!!
What is Hansson’s story? Irish left back Kevin Kilbane tells press that Hansson remarked after the play: “I can 100% say it wasn’t handball.” Kinbane’s reaction was “When he said that to me, I knew full well that he was just lying to me because he hadn’t even sene it.”
And if that’s not enough, now Hansson’s native Sweden is speaking out against him. Swedish daily paper Aftonbladet states about Hansson:
“There are approximately 80 million Irishmen around the world. We guarantee they all feel pretty bad today. But I sincerely hope there are three Swedes that feel even worse.
“They are Martin Hansson and (referee’s assistants) Stefan Wittberg and Fredrik Nilsson. There will be no World Cup for Ireland and I assume that Team Hansson has also forfeited its right to continue to take charge of major international matches.
“Anything else would be a further insult to the Irish nation.

Seriously can the FFF and FIFA truely believe that it is fair to run a sport, and steer it so that only the big teams win.
At the least this shows the need for a review of the sport and consideration of future video evidence to be available to refs.
If FIFA does nothing I hope that the European Union will act, the game is played on European soil and if the rules aren’t fair lawmakers can change them. Europeans can demand that teams be allowed to request one or two video replays per match, if FIFA doesnt like it then Europe can fine them 20% of their profits, and if that isnt incentive then someone else can step in.

Good news! I’ve just registered on the FIFA website to see what they have to say about ‘le cheat’…….I’m delighted to say it apparently never happened! As far as I can see, and I looked long and hard, there is NO reference to the scandal, the call for video evidence or the replay request. The official line is Les Bleus had a ‘lucky break’ to win. Aaaah. I can relax again, it was all a bad dream.

how much more do we all have to take !!. lets get this one sorted out once and for all. they do it in Rugby and cricket what is the use of two more sets of eyes that will miss it anyway. Video and replays is the only way. We have the technology to make it work lets use it. TRY IT OUT AT THE WORLD CUP. Its a joke hand of god hand of Gaul will be a thing of the past we can make it happen as fans and get the old F**ts of FIFA out and lets not have this happening again.
